I think a lot of people are allready stocked up and/or are out of money. It’s giving stores time to restock. I know I don’t need to remind the core group here but I don’t feel now is the time to lighten up on having the pantry well stocked. This shutdown is likely to last another 8 weeks yet. I don’t know how long the economy can take this prolonged hit and I’m concerned of what happens after.

Brent coming back from the lake today we detoured through a couple small towns to look around. A couple of the smaller supermarkets had signs out front that they had restocked some and indeed we saw people pushing out full carts of potatoes and canned goods. On the flip side I think the larger Walmart, Costco and Kroger stores in the larger towns are getting cleaned out pretty regular. I still can't get stuff online at the local Walmart closest to me. The down side is that the smaller grocers don't have curbside pickup making it more dangerous to shop. Also worrisome is that I did not see one mask or pair of gloves other than the ones we had with us.

Also the Dollar Generals here seem pretty hit and miss as far as stock.

At the lake it looked like lots of people are holed up in their fish camps to ride out this storm because it is kind of early in the season.

I know with certain items stocked at night it gets wiped out everyday still. . . Think this is going on 3 weeks straight, maybe closer to 4. The only cheese that came in for my area were a couple different bries. . . 8 of 1 and 14 of the other and since they have a short life, need to be used by 4/11 & 4/18. That's a waste of money, I can only use about 3 a week.,

I have been doing the same. This time I also threw in an extra cartload for the food bank. My coworker who volunteers there said that last week they had more than twice as many families as normal.

Certainly not as long as the pandemic.
That’s really a great idea to help where you can give back some. I normally give to the local food bank reasonably often but with the stay in place don’t risk going out much now. Right now is when these places need more help. You’ve motivated me to go through the stuff I have and will make a drop off with some, without going in anyways. I have the resources to restock and now that I’ve discovered the Walmart pickup service I don’t feel as concerned about shopping to resupply.

My freezer is so full, I wish we had a second one, if the first one ever dies...I would have to smoke a lot of it, eat a lot of ice cream and maybe lose some other stuff.
I ordered a replacement freezer about two weeks ago. It is still on backorder with Lowe’s. Mine is getting older and I wanted to replace it for maintenance reasons but I will likely find room and utilize both for a while yet. That is of course if I ever get the thing....

Frustrating isn’t it? We ordered cabinets weeks ago. They were supposed to already be here, but can’t even get a date when they will be made. Ugh.

I try to help out where I can; I have plenty and I know there are others who don't and it's not all their fault. I have been through times where I did not have a full pantry and didn't know how I would buy groceries the next week.
Definitely be careful out there; I know our food bank is taking precautions (it's drive through only according to my coworker who volunteers) so yours will probably be more than happy to let you leave a donation for them without having to get too close.

I bought one last round of ammo the other day some for me some for a friend ,,,they took the money but so far no word on when it will ship and they will not answer their phones,,,,,,I am going to be pissed if it does not come in

hard to say how long before they are taking calls again................

I found some on bulkammo and got it 2 days later. Try them out

part of my ammo turned up,,,now if the rest will come in I can stop wondering if it is going to show up at all
It’s a different world all of a sudden. Even logistics are being disrupted. There is no business that isn’t affected. Things are still working now but are slower than normal. I just hope they continue. The massive layoffs that are coming aren’t going to help things.

On one hand Amazon is recruiting 100,000 new workers in the US, on the other hand many amazon depots are on strike and I hear of prons with UPS and others like DPD.

They have most of the products, just not enough slaves to find, pack, load and deliver the good stuff.
I’m betting there will be a lot of unemployed people that would love to have one of those jobs to help put food on the table in the near future. I’m not above doing any type of work to continue eating.

my hat is off to those who are willing or being forced to work thru this,,,,, I can only hope that I don't lose anyone I care about,,,I have family in 3 different states and all 3 states are being hit pretty hard,,,,,,,,,,,,Florida,,Texas,,,Pa.
There is not a state or family that’s not being affected by this. It’s not the end of the world by any means but now is a good time to reach out to those you care about and let them know.

The people who are fired though will probably find some way to collect unemployment. We have several former employees trying to file for it and they quit voluntarily!

considering the times I would let them,,,,,
They quit before this became a thing here. And it was a good thing because they were terrible employees.
We do have several who have gone on LOA or quit due to the current concerns, most of whom I would be okay with filing for unemployment under the circumstances. But the ones who have done so are not in that category
