In looking into why my prescription drug is out of stock everywhere, I learned some lots of a generic version manufactured by Zhejiang Huahai Pharmaceutical were recalled because they were contaminated with N-methylnitrosobutyric acid, a potential carcinogen. Fortunately the ones I had been getting were not in the recall.

So the supply chain was already partially disrupted due to the recall, and there weren't enough in the pipeline to handle another disruption of supply.

This kind of thing does not bode well for the pharmaceuticals made in China...and will probably cause prescription drug prices to go up across the board.

Sept. 28, 2018 -- The FDA on Friday moved to block all imports of drugs made with ingredients made by a Chinese plant at the center of a massive recall of heart and blood pressure medications.
The agency says Zhejiang Huahai Pharmaceuticals will be on what’s called “import alert” until it “fully determines how impurities were introduced into its API,” or active pharmaceutical ingredient, and fixes its quality systems.
“The import alert stops all API made by ZHP and finished drug products made using ZHP’s API from legally entering the United States.”
The move comes after the FDA recalled blood pressure and heart failure medicines because of the discovery of at least two potentially cancer-causing impurities.

Going to go back a little to the discussion regarding the FLU vaccine. I know several people (overall a very small number to draw any reference but I will try) who have gotten the flu this season. Everyone of them did receive the FLU shot. No one I know (again a very small number) who bypassed the FLU shot has come down with the FLU. I am very much concerned we are just getting a big sales pitch when it comes to the FLU shot.

I will agree that someone who is at high risk should get it. Basically, take any and all the precaution you can. But, I now question why EVERYONE should have one since it seems to have been useless over the past few years.

I also will agree that if they develop a vaccine for the COVID-19 we should get them as it targets one specific strain and should be more effective.

Just my 2 cents worth (worth less than a penny these days).

we have a loooooooong list of meds with supply problems,which is updated on regular basis in the hospital internal data bank, this shyt just made it longer..
its been a problem for atleast a year,maybe even longer...

There is one oddball question that I have about the corona virus that I can't seem to find an answer to.

One reason why measels is so bad is because it resets your immune system to zero. This means that if you were vaccinated for mumps and you get measels, you're no longer immune to mumps and you must get revaccinated.

This is true of every vaccine that you've ever had, or any disease that you ever recovered from. All your vaccinations must be redone.

Does the corona virus do this also?

Can one disease cause an epidemic of other diseases because nobody is immune to anything anymore?

Listen up Gen Z'r. I'm biting my tongue REALLY HARD to keep from saying what I'm thinking...
It will take over 20 years for me to collect enough SS payments to cover what I put into my kids' educations so that they would not have ANY school loan debts when they got out into the real world. They were able to buy a house within 2 years of being out there in the workplace and their SS taxes cover my payments. So no, you are not going to be able to send me on a guilt trip for collecting SS payments, you...more tongue biting...

I haven't gotten a flu shot since I got out of the Army back in 1985 and I have never had the flu. A case of the sniffles in 1995, for about 6-8 hours, MMS and gone. A case of sniffles in 2004, 2012 and 2016. I don't get sick, lots of vitamins, MMS and fresh veggies and fresh air. Since my wife sleeps with an open window and takes her vitamins and uses MMS for the last few years, she has only a sniffles, runny nose but never a flu or bed-ridden...GP

Funny, after a 2 hour road trip with one of my Motorcycle Students in my driving school here, he asked me how he was driving.
