Apparently at least one of his daughters may have been on the helicopter as well, but that report was unconfirmed when I last checked.

Hadn’t heard about the daughter too. Sad. I’m not a sports fan but of course everyone at least knows his name. He was the Einstein of basketball, the babe Ruth of dunking, the Christopher Columbus of the court. Ok, I suck at these analogies, let’s just say he was really, really good at the game. I wish his family well.

I thought the same thing when I saw debris scattered over a large area. If it was just a mechanical malfunction it seems like it would have just come down and hit the ground in one area. They said heavy fog was in the area at the time so they may have just flown into the hillside. Don’t know if we will ever know for sure but they do figure a lot of things out from the wreckage sometimes.
