Yeah, that place is a madhouse. My father used to live half the year there (after leaving my mother for a Filipino wife). After he passed though, she came here to live permanently. Said it was getting too rough there (which sucked for her, because apparently, you can live like a king on upper middle class salary). Here, they were upper middle...there....they were rich.

Not that I ever got anything from it, but then, I'm not really asking, either. We take care of ourselves. I just wish he would have helped his mom more (my grandma).

Exactly why we are flooded with Phillipino doctors here. I know of one doctors wife who was rumored to go back to her home country and buy herself a kidney. I hear it is really bad there and the Dominican Republic full of drugs and drug money and everything that it entails.
