We are just now getting the worst of it. Trees are blowing around pretty good in each wave, but it isn't so bad. I grew up with afternoon thunderstorms worse than this in fla. lots of trees and some billboards have come down but so far we still have power. It is supposed to calm down about 9pm tonight. Did see that Jacksonville got a good bit of flooding, but not too bad with the winds.

What's amazing is that it is simultaneously hitting Montgomery AL, Atlanta GA and Charleston SC. Montgomery and Charleston are 372 miles apart!

Irma was more a wind maker than anything else. . . there was some flooding but not too bad. At least that was good.

Fisk University in Nashville has cancelled classes for tomorrow, but no County schools are even closed. That is so odd. Universities are usually the last to cancel.

They're closing a lot of K-12 schools here. Redstone Arsenal and Marshall Space Flight Center as well.

When Ivan came through, it was east of here. They shut everything down and it was sunny and windy. Will they ever learn?

Yes. By the time it got to North Alabama it was wind.
