"According to the data from the beginning of the epidemic season (09.28.2015 - 29.01.2016 years) in Ukraine registered almost 3.1 million. Patients with influenza and SARS, ill with 7.9% of the population. Of the total number of cases ≈ 65,0% are children under the age of 17 years. The highest incidence of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections occur among the population of Kiev region and the city of Kiev, where ill with respectively 15.5 and 11.5% of the population. The lowest incidence is registered in the Transcarpathian (4.8%) and Kharkiv regions ( 3.4%), "- said in a statement.
It is noted that only in Ukraine since the beginning of the epidemic season, hospitalized with a preliminary diagnosis of "flu" and "acute respiratory viral infection," 116 thousand. People (3.8% of cases), of which 70% are children under the age of 17 years.
On the third week of 2016 in 18 regions of the incidence of influenza exceeded the epidemic threshold in 11 of these areas - more than 50.0% (Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kiev, Kirovograd, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, Luhansk, Chernivtsi Region).
In other regions of the country epidemic thresholds are in the range of (-2.3%) in the Kharkiv region before (-46.5%) in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
It also reported that the incidence rate for the reporting week, 2.3 times more than last year.
"Since the beginning of the epidemic season, according to operative data reported 155 laboratory-confirmed fatal case of influenza, including 2 children up to 17 years and one fatal case in pregnant women. The largest number of deaths in the Odessa region - 32 cases, in Vinnytsia - 13, Zaporozhye - 12 , Rivne - 11 ", - the report says.
Also it notes that medical care promptly addressed only a third of the dead. The analysis of deaths showed that all the dead had no vaccinations against the flu.
Since the beginning of the epidemic season, according to operative data of Ministry of Health vaccinated against influenza 123,500 people, accounting for 0.32% of the total population, including children up to 17 years - 21%. Vaccination was carried out mainly at the expense of local budgets.
"As of 01.29.2016, on Ukraine in 12,863 secondary schools, pre-school education continues to suspend and similar establishments in 1289 restored the learning process", - added in the department.
