Thanks - looks great and will try to get one in South Africa - looks so comfy!
Can you post a pic of your stun gun? I am interested in it very much. Or at least post the name of it please.Bet the bank allows you to carry a stun gun type weapon (or that at least it isn't specifically prohibited).
Not as good as a gun, but better than nothing, and your permit should extend to it.
Personally, I have one that is disguised as a cell phone. If in an area I feel threatened. I open carry it (looks like I have my phone). Someone gets to close, just do a quick little press of the button to give them the idea of backing off.
I have my conceal/carry permit...when we travel I carry in states where my permit is allowed but my main reason for getting my permit was for my commute into the cities where I work...I was once approached by a street person who wanted money...he was even so bold as to OFFER to accompany me to an ATM...thankfully I was close to a building entrance where I KNEW there was a security guard...but that experience scared me enough to get the training to get my permit...but my employer doesn't allow guns on the premises...I work in a bank...go figure. So, to make a long story short I'm frustrated! Now with everything falling to pieces around us, I would like to carry my gun (legally) to and from work. I have a 50+ mile commute each way...should SHTF I'd like to have some sort of personal protection with me in case it hits while I'm at work and have to work my arse off to get home.
When we travel, the pistol sits in my front pocket but for everyday around home I haven't found a comfy carry method...
I'm in the same boat as far as wanting a smaller conceal carry. My 9mm is a brick, both heavy and bulky. I want to stay with the same size, but will pu something smaller and lighter before long.I have a 38 revolver I carry, but I'm looking for something smaller with similar stopping power since I'm a rather petite woman and it's very hard to conceal without printing. I don't like having it in my purse because that extends my draw time, but that's how I've been carrying. What gun do you recommend that isn't likely to jam [that's why I chose a revolver] and is small enough for someone very petite to conceal?
Also great idea on the stun gun, I have one and carry it places I can't have a gun. And it's a lot better than drawing your gun in public when you're harassed or followed on the street like I often am living in a semi-urban setting.
Just wandering, how dry are you in Kentucky? I'm from there originally.
I've seen so much about the whole area flooding recently, and was just wondering if you were near it. I still have some realities in Louisville and probably need to check on them.I definitely am looking at super small 9mms, though my mom has one and it jams every time we go to the range, it seems like 1/20 shots jam. It's really preposterous, I will not be getting that model!
Well, I visited my mom at the lake this weekend and the lake is higher than I've ever seen it. Way past flood height, it seems like it rained nonstop all December. But it looks like it's finally stopping. Or did you mean something else by "dry"?
I've had a couple Taurus guns over the years and had no problems, but appreciate the advice. I will start looking for a slimline 9 before long too. It's a Taurus 9mm, I don't remember the exact model but it's very small. I probably won't be purchasing anything from Taurus anymore after that fiasco.
The flooding is pretty bad but my area hasn't been hit too hard as far as casualties, though there were a couple cars swept off the road during the height of the flooding.
It's an interesting idea, but how hard would that be to pull out. I'm envious of carrying a purse as its a great place to carry. I've never tried a shoulder holster but think it would be easy to conceal and access quickly.Has anyone tried this or something like this?: http://thewellarmedwoman.com/holsters/concealment-compression-undershorts
I know this is an old post but thanks for the link. I had not heard of this website and already loving it!My wife uses this: http://www.thewellarmedwoman.com/deep-concealment-ultra-carry-holster for her glock and kahr 40 when she does carry, she says it is the most comfortable she have used so far.
I carry my .38 in my purse. Most bags have large pockets inside and I found that you can use velcro to close it instead of the zipper, which give me easier/quicker access. It my .38 is not in my bag then it is in the center console. I find the glove box is too much of a stretch to quickly retrieve it if needed.I got my conceal carry license as soon as I could. I have a Beretta TomCat, and it's small enough to carry in my purse, but I haven't done any real practice in a few years and want to do that before I pack it. It goes in the glovebox when I have to travel very far or at night.
I just don't really see this as a good option for me though... I'm more in touch with my feminine side than most men but draw the line with anything called the can can!I know this is an older thread, but for anyone reading it for ideas, I use the Can Can Concealment hip hugger holster. It takes a little getting used to but I like I can use the ladies room and not have to take my waistband holster off. And it has pockets for my carry license, extra mag, mini mace or things you'd like to carry with it. It holds really close to the body and I can carry wearing shorts and a tank top without printing. It's a bit like Spanx and a holster in one
She kind of perked my interest at Spanx.....I just don't really see this as a good option for me though... I'm more in touch with my feminine side than most men but draw the line with anything called the can can!
