Atlanta cops continuing to call out of work, interim police chief vows 'we will get through this'
Atlanta's interim police chief acknowledged Friday that some of his department's rank and file "may feel abandoned" as officers are continuing to call out sick.
The call outs began Wednesday after a district attorney announced charges against two Atlanta officers in the shooting death of Rayshard Brooks. Interim Chief Rodney Bryant told The Associated Press in an interview that the sick calls continued Thursday, but said the department had sufficient staff to protect the city. It’s not clear how many officers called out.
“Some are angry. Some are fearful. Some are confused on what we do in this space. Some may feel abandoned," Bryant said of the officers. "But we are there to assure them that we will continue to move forward and get through this.”
In 911 audio obtained by 11Alive, there were long periods of silence on Atlanta police radio Wednesday night.
In one exchange after midnight, an officer can be heard saying: "We're having our unit(s) come back to the main. We are not answering 911 calls right now due to personnel issues. If you can reach out to other zones, or I will have them assist with our pending."

I would like all the police to retire, quit, take vacation or call out. So things escalate and we can quickly get to the final conflicts and conclude this second civil war. It's better than dragging everything out. We are ready now, the leftist are just starting to arm themselves.
I think the progressives are letting BLM run interference for them. True gaslighting. After they witnessed just how many people went along with the whole COVID19 fear mongering, it was easy to manipulate the same people about systemic racism. Defunding the police will only cause more chaos, which they want right now, and I sincerely believe they will push a “second wave” of Covid upon our nation to try and bring the economy to its absolute knees. Today, ANTIFA started pulling down statues of Catholic saints. If history repeats itself, they will start burning churches next. You will eventually end up with a state church that mandates what you think and believe - and I don’t believe for one second that it will have anything to do with any true religious beliefs. It will be a “new religion” of the left that we’ve seen them try to push for quite some time now. I’ve tried to stay positive about things, hoping our nation could pull through it, but when you hear other conservative voices also sounding the warning that this nation is close to being no more....it’s hard to not freak out. I am hearing the same from our conservative Pastors within the church. They are fully prepared to go to the gulag, and I’m not even kidding! It is frightening to think about, but I believe this insurrection actually has feet to make it a reality. :/
I hear many senior Dems and their funders / supporters etc are going flat out to hire private cops / security for themselves and their homes just in case they are sucessful in making the police walk off the job.

Im curious how long will it take before they admit that they F*cked up and start to beg for the army to help.
The whole thing reminds me of that youtube video. Little kid took an onion an insisted that its an apple.
Now they are prettending that everything is fine because otherwise they would have to admit that they did screw up.
What could possibly go wrong?

Except the real leaders of this didn't screw up. This is what they wanted. This is an extension of their Cloward-Piven strategy, which failed because of Trump's economic boom which brought blacks OUT of poverty and created jobs for them instead of collapsing the welfare system as Obama tried to do.
