For a moment there, I actually thought there were enough folks who "got it" and realized that the ideals of our nation were in serious danger. In 2016, my faith in my fellow Americans was renewed when Hillary lost. A bought and paid for politician, in the pockets of our enemies and special interest groups, her loss was refreshing.

And yet, here were are, two years later, and the public continues to be brainwashed by the media and a bunch of sheeple who can't see the forest for the trees. Worse yet, they are GROWING. Because in 2020, a whole new generation of voters will come to the polls....and this group is the most uninformed yet, and the most brainwashed. (and frankly, a bunch of morons)

It was first clear after the midterms. Even though Trump was bashed daily in the press, the numbers didn't lie. Higher GDP. Lower Unemployment. Record low unemployment in black youths. North Korea stopped rattling its saber. Once again, America regained its place as the worlds number 1 economy. But nope. Not good enough for the bleeding hearts who were still miffed about losing (even after their gal got CAUGHT rigging the election). The election of morons like Ocasio-Cortez just solidified it. We folks in the know....we're a dying breed. And our numbers will not be enough to save us (or them) in 2020. Let alone 2022, when they double-down on stupid.

Rest assured, 2020 will see the end of any real democracy in America, and the beginning of a one-party state. You're either a lefty, or a racist relic and a monster in the eyes of the public, no matter how ethical and moral you are. 2022 will be even worse, when more GOP seats are up for re-election, and both houses of Congress align with a leftist, socialist POTUS (whichever one gets elected in 2020). While I'm not a religious guy, I will tell you this. 2020 will be the beginning of the end of religious entanglements with government. I'm not broken up about this, but I am worried about what takes the place of that vacuum. And that ladies and gents, is ENFORCED political correctness, regardless of personal beliefs. And THAT, I do have a problem with. (though I'll be old enough to not really give a damn).

Years ago, when seeing the movie Idiocracy, I thought....what a fun comedy! I never realized I was looking at a crystal ball, that was actually predicting the future. Welcome to Costco. I love you.

Someone told me to watch that movie recently; I had never seen it before. I usually hate comedies because they are so stupid. But it's really frightening how on-point the symbolism is in that movie.

A few thoughts.

First, and G you'll enjoy this, running around central Texsa several years ago, I actually met the fellow who said "Welcome to Costco, we love you". BIG guy, can't miss him. It was just running around somewhere, I can't even remember what town I was in. Apparently people recognize him all the time for that role.

Second, everything G wrote is what the MEDIA is saying. I think 1/2 the population are quietly agreeing with and supporting Trump. But you'd never guess that just watching MSM.

I still say the Wall will be the deciding factor in who wins 2020. Trump's biggest problem is that the swamp is re-filling almost as fast as he drains it. Almost. What follows in 2024? My crystal ball doesn't work that far out.

I don't buy all the firearms and ammos just for my range or hunting (don't hunt) pleasure. I buy them just in case President Trump loses. Once the Democrats control the government again, firearms and ammo will be almost impossible to obtain. Look at California and the East coast. What were some of the first things the Democrats proposed once they regained the house, more gun controls. America is like the Roman empire and we will go the same way they did, destroyed from within. The conservative mindset will not win in the long run. Free everything will eventually win, just like it did in VZ. So I load up on what will disappear first, then the next priority items that will be eliminated or dramatically reduced. In VZ they first collected the firearms, then what was next? That is the questions we should be looking at, after the firearms, what will we lose next?

Sadly, I think you are overestimating our numbers. We were able to pull it out in 2016 due to the apathy many of the younger voters felt after their Uncle Bernie was not going on the ballot.

In 2020, not only are they not staying home, but now a whole new generation of even more whiny entitled brats, with even less ideas about what is actually going on, are now going to cast votes.

Again though, I hope I'm wrong, but statistically, the numbers just don't seem to be there.

G, The democrats need to decide which group they are going to alienate. If they push the crazy leftie candidates (which I expect), the "Southern Democrats" will stay home. If they push a moderate democrat (doubt it), they'll alienate the crazy youth. Either way, they have a divided party. I don't see that division anywhere near that for conservatives. Yes, some 'never trumpers'. So what. Nearly all of us are sipping our coffee and saying "build the #^&*% wall".

My bet is that they push for Harris. It's the smart move. Thing is, while she used to be a moderate Dem, her recent comments have put her more in the loony left camp.

I don't think the "Southern Dems" are going to just stay home. Even with a crazy leftie candidate, they'll still jump at the chance to deny Trump a second term. (while secretly hoping enough moderates are left in Congress to thwart any truly stupid moves by such a whackadoo).

While there is division in the Dems' camp, they are all united on one thing....being against Trump. they weren't smart enough to do this in 2016, but they've had 2 years to figure it out. (and the midterms seemed to bear this strategy out as viable).

I just still shake my head that so many uninformed voters exist, and are out there upset at the "concept" of Trump, that they haven't bothered to realize that the Dems simply have no message, no platform, and no plans to actually HELP the average American. The ONLY message they have put forward is STOP TRUMP. That's it. It just boggles the mind really.

I get it, ya hate Trump. Fine. Tell me YOUR plans to fix ACA. YOUR plans to secure our boarders. YOUR plans to lower my taxes (or at least spend them better). YOUR plans to ensure my kids have a future. Etc. THAT is how you impress an informed voter.
