Protests in Suburbs

This morning on our neighborhood Nextdoor page it was announced that a Black Lives Matter protest is being planned in the middle of a suburban neighborhood for this evening at 5:30pm. It’s less than a mile from my house. When asked if this would be a peaceful protest or one that’s aligned with socialist groups, there was refusal to answer the question.
My question is this: What should I do to be prepared? I have small children. Has anyone else had this happen in suburban metro areas or heard of other places where this is being planned for tonight? I pray that it’s peaceful and doesn’t amount to anything - but also want to be prepared in case it is not. Thanks.

My Mini-Check List

Park the car in a enclosed garage.
Keep dog in the yard for early warning system.
Be aware of any noise or movement.
Communicate with the neighbors.
Don’t rely on the police to save the day.
Lock and load weapons.

To add;
Hose everything down outside and keep the water hoses unwound and under pressure for the duration of the march-through, keep all exterior lights on and interior lights off, take all flags down and take down/hide all political statements. Keep the kids by the back door or whatever door is opposite of the road, turn off the A/C, heater and exhaust fans just in case tear gas is used out in the street, stay away from the windows, lock everything, check your mail before the march, keep all animal with the kids, if you have a big dog let it roam the house from the inside, don't shoot unless somebody are in the house, the kids AND you have to remain calm, position yourself between the front door and rear door but be aware where the kids are at all times. Remember, with your interior lights off you have the benefit of surprise on your side.

Sorry for missing all this! We are fine. The people have been standing every day at the same spot with their signs, but it’s dwindled down to just two or three now. Pretty sure they are getting paid to be there. Our neighborhood is quiet. The nextdoor page has been extremely quiet about BLM now which I think is because they are secretly concerned about them being here and also people are beginning to wake up a bit now that Denver police force is being considered to be defunded. They did vote to pull School Resource Officers our of Denver Public Schools. That will be terrible. Colorado is always considered a target for school shootings, and just months ago they pushed for more SRO’s in schools - now we are banning them entirely. One other thing that’s happened his past week is that Colorado is pushing to mandate vaccines for everyone. Terrifying. I think it’s time to consider moving. :/

One other thing I forgot to mention - and I credit all of you who replied to this thread for giving me the idea - our entire neighborhood is now running their sprinklers every night and the neighbors closest to the protestors have kept a close watch on it all.

As far as the vaccine. Absolutely do not take it! Did you see where Gates, who is very involved in this brought in a Nanotechnology company to put nanorobotics into the vaccine? There is video of him discussing it and being asked if those nanites could be used for more than displaying and keeping track of who has had a vaccine. His answer was Yes they can, but they won’t be. Yeah, right! I’d never trust unknown people behind a computer with control of what happens to MY BODY!

Im just glad that everything is working out for you right now. This is a strange new world that we are all living in, even though some of us are thankfully at a distance. I can only imagine being closer to the craziness with young kids to protect. I have grandkids and would protect them no matter what and would take every precaution to keep them safe.
