Damn, that is as beautiful as a tall blonde....A used Purdey for sale:

Purdey Double Rifle: Ref: HC140/S
Double Rifle, .577
Renowned Master Engraver, the late Philippe Grifnee, decorated this fine and unique large calibre double rifle with large scroll and buffalo game scenes. Purdey have made very few rifles in this calibre, making this item extremely rare as a rifle in itself, let alone considering the engraving. Grifnee was known worldwide and sadly passed away unexpectedly at a relatively young age. His talent made him a legend in his own lifetime, and in passing away his work has become much sought after. The rifle itself has not been used for game since its manufacture in 1993, and so retains an as-new condition. It has been re-regulated by Purdey for sale, and a leather pad added for comfort, with a stock length of 15". The barrels are 24" in length, and the rifle has an overall weight of approximately 13lbs. The unique bespoke case has a full compliment of accessories. Please contact us for further information on this fine piece.

I'm trying to keep liquor to barter, but my husband keeps finding it, then it disappears.Yet another fine comment.
I doubt I could cash in my meager investments after shtf, perhaps even before if shtf
was obviously coming.
A fast collapse might be "invited, come as you are", situation.
I'd posit that paper money would only be good for tinder to built a camp fire.
Silver might be handy after things settle a bit.
Ammo, food, meds, and other hard, usable goods would be better barter but I'd be very careful
who I'd trade ammo to. If I'd trade ammo at all.
I don't have much in the way of first aid supplies and intend to fix that.
Bandages and aspirin don't go bad.
My diabetic insulin tabs won't last too long but perhaps I can control blood sugar
with diet. Dunno.

One of many sites on the web for 1st aid supplies.
I need stock up.
You are correct there Arctic. Weapons will be second to food and water when people are desperate. I also want to make sure I have other weapons around too. Like I've said before, " a plain pointy stick" can do the job. I guess that could also be called a spear. As far as anyone is concerned I don't have any firearms.
Maybe you can barter your husband......I'm trying to keep liquor to barter, but my husband keeps finding it, then it disappears.
Now there is one that is going to be totally useless in a blackout, etc. The man does not have a clue. Can't even use a screwdriver, but he can write a good story about it. Lol (he's a sportswriter and sports talk show host, and jazz radio host) all skills that will be so useful when shtf.Maybe you can barter your husband......
