A guy I read on a gun forum in the US who lived in a high crime area said he has his hand gun simply attached to a wall mounted magnet near his bedroom door way above head height where his kids cannot reach.
by removing the clip and putting it where the kids can not lay hands on it makes a gun nothing more than a blunt object,,,,it will not matter if Jr. gets his hands on it or notIf a kid lacks the creative problem solving skills to just knock it down...then one has truly failed as a parent.
Personally, a biometric mini gun case is likely the most economical and safe option. (unless you are a deep sleeper).
