California numbers look way off. They have around 40 million people. NY has less than 9 million. Perhaps illegals aren’t going for tests...

Plant a garden, raise chickens and other meat animals. Become self sufficient in every way. Minimize your debt.

Sounds solid Rellgar. While I have chickens, I don’t have rabbits right now. I’m wondering if it gets bad enough if I need a couple of goats? I love cheese and if inflation hits, food is going to be so expensive. Have a good size garden and lots growing in the greenhouse. Maybe I should plan on planting a fall garden... We don’t have debt. Won’t even go into the stock loss.:(

Stores prepare for riots and looting.

As cities all over America have placed stay-at-home orders in response to the coronavirus, high-end retailers are worrying about potential civil unrest. Several shops, including those in one of Hollywood’s most famous shopping districts, are taking measures to protect themselves against possible looters.

Shops on or around Beverly Hills’ Rodeo Drive seem to be preparing for the worse possible scenario during this current outbreak. Photographs have surfaced online of several of these stores having their doors and storefront windows boarded up with giant slabs of plywood. This is in addition to said stores clearing out their shelves of expensive merchandise.

When interviewed by TMZ, construction workers boarding up the Pottery Barn off Beverly Drive and Dayton Way, right near Rodeo, stated that what they were doing was only a temporary measure to protect that specific branch from bad actors. However, other photographs have now come in showing other stores in other major cities also doing the same.

The defensive measures by retailers come after police departments have been hit hard by the ongoing pandemic. In some cities, hundreds of police officers have tested positive for the disease, while thousands have called in sick or are in isolation.

High-end stores anticipating looting and civic unrest all over
Rodeo Drive isn’t the only high-end shopping district that’s seeing it stores board up due to fears of possible looting and civil unrest. Numerous photographs have popped up over Twitter, showing shopping districts in cities around the country such as Chicago, San Francisco and more boarding up their windows.

Closures of high-end retailers such as Dolce & Gabbana and Hermes at Chicago’s Magnificent Mile have prompted Luigi Zingales, professor of finance at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, to compare the situation to the 2019-20 Chilean protests where rioters looted shops and even churches in the capital of Santiago and other cities.

The Coronavirus’s Unique Threat to the South
More young people in the South seem to be dying from COVID-19. Why?

The numbers emerging seem to indicate that more young people in the South are dying from COVID-19. Although the majority of coronavirus-related deaths in Louisiana are still among victims over 70 years old, 43 percent of all reported deaths have been people under 70. In Georgia, people under 70 make up 49 percent of reported deaths. By comparison, people under 70 account for only 20 percent of deaths in Colorado. “Under 70” is a broad category, not really useful for understanding what’s going on. But digging deeper reveals more concerning numbers. In Louisiana, people from the ages of 40 to 59 account for 22 percent of all deaths. The same age range in Georgia accounts for 17 percent of all deaths. By comparison, the same age group accounts for only about 10 percent of all deaths in Colorado, and 6 percent of all deaths in Washington State. These statistics suggest that middle-aged and working-age adults in the two southern states are at much greater risk than their counterparts elsewhere; for some reason, they are more likely to die from COVID-19.

Karma, so it wasn't Trump that guided them as she stated but china hmm.... MSNBC, CNN apology coming? Probably not :(

Woman who said she drank fish-tank cleaner because of president's advice is not a Trump supporter

Wanda acknowledged she was a Democrat and put less emphasis on Trump's guidance: "We weren't big supporters of [Trump], but we did see that they were using it in China and stuff," Wanda said.

I am speechless! The Governor of Georgia did not know until yesterday that people with COVID-19 that were asymptomatic could transmit the disease.

"This is a game changer"

GEORGIA GOV. BRIAN KEMP SAYS HE DIDN'T KNOW ASYMPTOMATIC PEOPLE COULD TRANSMIT CORONAVIRUS
"The reason I'm taking this action, like I've continued to tell people, I'm following the data, I'm following the advice of Dr. [Kathleen] Toomey," Kemp said in response to a reporter's question at a press conference on Wednesday.

"Finding out that this virus is now transmitting before people see signs, so what we've been telling people from directives from the CDC for weeks now that if you start feeling bad, stay home... those individuals could've been infecting people before they ever felt bad. But we didn't know that until the last 24 hours. And as Dr. Toomey told me, this is a game changer for us."

The damn CDC is in your stated you don't even know?
And they have been saying this literally since the first cases in the US two months ago.

It has been shown that White Females of European decent are less likely to get it or die. This disease also has been shown to harm those with high blood pressure...lots of overweight folks in the south. Just some ideas.

Normally I keep weapons secured in a fire safe to keep any potential crack addicts from gettin gaccess to them. No I have loaded weapons all over the house for quick access, just in case. I hope I’ll never need to use any one of them, but it’s a good move just in case wether you’re a business or just a private citizen.

New Orleans residents suffer from obesity, diabetes and hypertension at rates higher than the national average, conditions that doctors and public health officials say can make patients more vulnerable to COVID-19, the highly contagious respiratory disease caused by the coronavirus.

Some 97% of those killed by COVID-19 in Louisiana had a pre-existing condition, according to the state health department. Diabetes was seen in 40% of the deaths, obesity in 25%, chronic kidney disease in 23% and cardiac problems in 21%.

But they also note that it is clear that obesity-related conditions are playing a role in the deaths. That could be a warning sign for the United States at large, where chronic obesity is more common than in other developed countries, they said.

Hospitals are reporting cases across the generations -mothers and daughters, fathers and sons - being intubated and cared for in the same intensive care units, said Tracey Moffatt, the chief nursing officer at Ochsner Health, the largest healthcare provider in Louisiana. The prevalence of obesity, diabetes, hypertension and heart disease in New Orleans and Louisiana plays into that, she said.

Theres a part of me that cringes when I see these stories. If it really came from profiteers, great. But if it came from a whole bunch of folks like us, who had stocked up, what else would they say... I hate that my brain immediately "goes there"... but experience is what it is...
