I agree competition breeds innovation and creativity but there are negative aspects to the systems we use in the West too. One of the main problems is greed and how sustainable it is. With regards to the original post, the taxing of successful people obviously isn't the solution. Western governments do collect enough tax revenue, in fact they collect way more than they need to provide quality services. The problem is too many bureaucrats, corruption, waste and money spent on none essential services, for example in Europe the tax payer would pay for things like gender reassignment while not having enough funds to provide quality basic medical services. One other issue I have is with state aid and subsidies for companies. While these may create jobs for people it creates an unnatural marketplace.
