Do you ever sleep! Honestly, I like mornings too, but usually start at 5:30.

I’m up at 3 every morning like clock work, couple of the grand kids are up out checking on the animals and loading the feeders, I’ll check on them then head back to fix breakfast then by 5 the wife up showered and ready for breakfast, the kids or all up by 5 and come over at my place for breakfast. That’s pretty much 7 days a week.

I think your wife gets the better end of that deal!

Here is where the eye of Florence is making landfall...Carolina Beach.

Now if I'm not mistaken...Carolina Beach is a Barrier Island meaning that it is a barrier between the ocean and the mainland.

So why are there houses?
Every one of these houses on Carolina Beach is up to the roof right now in water. I mean, I guess I'm OK with someone taking the risk of building on a barrier island as long as it is their risk. But what do you want to bet that we the taxpayers are going to be paying for this through Federal Flood Insurance?

Sorry, but I have no sympathy for idiots that build houses on barrier islands...

Mine too (wife getting better end of the deal). I'm up at a more sane 6am, to go bring in the horses, and drop hay, feed, water, and feed/water the barn cats, bunnies and chickens. She's up a little later, and feeds the inside cats and dogs. Then we both get ready for work. I'm driving for an hour, while she gets to sit in the passenger seat playing on her phone. LOL. We work until 6pm, then the hour commute back. Once home, I go feed the horses again, then turn them out (and clean stalls), while she feeds the inside ones and preps dinner.

How are you faring Brent, get a lot of wind, rain?

So, the people were warned, some chose to stay. Now, of course, many are needing rescuing. Are they blaming Trump yet? I just got home and haven't been on twitter.

Honestly, I haven’t seen anything at all. The storm has pulled the moisture away from us and it was sunny and 94degs today. They say we might get a little rain on Sunday, maybe.

Lisa's friend Brian lives on that island, he loaded his motor home and evac Tuesday to northern Florida, he said a good portion of the people their were staying when he left, he knows several people staying and having friends over for a hurricane party, Brian talked to his friend Thursday around 11am and they were still their with a house full. Na, one can't feel sorry for these idiots!

6 total deaths so far from what i heard on the radio on our way home. Lots of flooding. Second son used to live at Sneads Ferry which is not far from Jacksonville. Saw him tonight and he is glad he is not there now. It's not the winds that will get you with this storm. It's the flooring rains. Rivers lakes and creeks fill and over flow. Don't know about how they are set up around there, if they have dams or not but if they do and need to open, that just means more flooding. It's a lot of rainfall in a short period of time.

I'm just glad the flooding hasn't been as devastating as they first thought and it seems like only the coastal areas were effected as of yet. Sorry guys but we were over 100 miles away from initial impact of Harvey and I can not tell you just how many homes r flooded even 50 miles north of us. It's not always just coastal damage and unless you have lived thru something like that you will never understand what these people who lose everything are going thru when they have to start over. My heart goes out to the people in those areas. I am sure this will be the lifetime of a storm for some, Irma will be Gaz's and Harvey will be forever (hpefully) mine.
