Sorry if this question has been asked. I just found this forum a few days ago so I havent spent more than an hour looking at it so far. But very informative!!

So what are your biggest concerns?

My biggest concerns are the grid going down. That is the easiest thing for an enemy to do to us . A grid down situation for more than a few days will leave millions unprepared and things will get bad quickly. This is why I am beginning to prep. Yes a solar flare or EMP can do the same damage but I have a feeling cyber attacks is where we will lose power to our grid system.

Im not too worried about yellowstone or aliens or the so called global warming that will kill us all in a few years. the destruction of america is happening now but I really dont think these democrats will be able to keep it up much longer. Too many "americans" are opening their eyes to the marxist beliefs so Im betting in 4 or 5 years we will be rid of these idiots now in power.
 
The power grid going down will be curtains for most people either in your country or mine, most people wont be able to survive without the necessities of modern life plus most would curl up and die without their mobile phone or access to Facebook and the like.
 
An EMP would have a cascading affect. No electricity would lead to no transportation, witch would lead to no food or water. That leads to civil unrest, to riots to looting. No communications leads to no government. No law enforcement . And its all downhill from there. 90% die off is likely, in the first year.
 
Firstly, I prep for those every single day SHTF occurrences that happen in life - that should be the very first thing a newbie should do to prep >> know your utilities around the house to shut things down when necessary - change a flat going to work - find your keys, phone and even your shoes - ect ect

don't worry about the big SHTFs >>> if you don't have the basics down - any prepping you do for these will be built on a shoddy unreliable base ....
 
I am with Arctic, the local gov't could fail daily, the local electricity, the local water. Our president does not want the illegals here, he says< ""the gypsies have been here for 400 years and have not integreated themselves. Why should we believe the fugitives from Afghanistan, Syria or Iraq should integrate themsleves so soon??""
The Danube could flood us any time and we would lose everything. A forest fire can not happen here but it is not a good thing. We do not know if a winter can or will be bad again, we have to have enough wood to survive if the gas goes out....questions?
 
we rely so heavily on computers today,so if those go down,we are in for a ride, on my part I have to worry about that kosack in the east, what he does next,
don't excactly have much confidence in my gov't either...
loss of power and heat in the winter would be "cool", literally..
 
This pandemic should show everyone that we are a fragile society. Take out one small block and the whole thing comes crashing down. If we could get rid of the modern democratic/socialistic party then thing will get back to normal quickly. But they are the big chunk that is trying to topple our great nation.
 
I'm prepping for a massive environmental collapse, EMP from either a solar flare or a high-altitude nuclear weapon.

I have also tried to prep for economic collapse.

If we can hold together for a little while longer, I'll be an RN . . . and RNs and doctors have always been in short supply. As an RN, I'll be able to challange the paramedic exam and become a paramedic again . . . so I wonder if I still "got it," or if eveything about me will be hopelessly antiquated after a 22 year break.

Or is that just a midlife crisis?

Good joke. Trump was running the response to C19, and unless you're saying that the is a democratic/socialist, your proposition is obviously erroneous.
I'm prepping for the next pandemic from China, because if another moron line Trump is running the country when it hits, we're in trouble. Even with an organism as relatively benign as C19, for a while, the shelves were empty, ICUs' were overflowing, businesses closed down, no air travel, etc. etc.
The biggest threat if, say an organism with a fifty-percent lethality rate hits the US, is that half of the country are such dedicated followers that basic steps to stop the spread of the disease would be ignored, as in "Why should I wear a mask if my hero Donald Trump ain't wearin' no mask?" And "I hain't gettin' no vaccination because I done been tolt by Tucker Carlson that they's injectin' RFID tags" or some such BS.
I'll wear a mask until the collapse is predictable. Then I'll bug out and wait for the half of the half to die off. Then people with some common sense will return and restart the economy after we are sure that we don't have to risk death compliments of some moron who gets his virology information from a fox pitchman and an eye doctor from Kentucky.

you better start worrying about your OWN azz with the Chinese coming - better hope to hell the US rights the ship and gets a few things corrected that the Manchurian Prez is setting up for China ....

it's serious enough that the USAF is in an emergency re-structuring of the entire Asian program to slow China's advance toward a kick-off ....

Corona aka Black Plague v. 2 happening right now, which leads to Social, economic collapse by ineptness.

Pestilence is already happening, possible war/famine (food prices, supply chains, inflation, econ fails, and false recovery into a long term non-recovery of a pandemic)

Trump's response was not bad at all.
It was those around him, trying to undermine him that made things bad.

He wanted to stop flights from China. He was fought against from every corner. Nacy Pelosi went to San Fran Chinatown, no mask, hugging everyone in sight. Two weeks later, she is wearing a mask. She rules the House to mask up at all times, despite the science to the contrary (to include Dr. Faucci's emails).
The WHO and CDC used PRC testing above 30 to make it look worse. Then just recently changed that number as to be more accurate.
Trump authorized Operation Warp Speed. He was derided in the press as wishful thinking. Yet here we are with a vaccine(s).
Despite Biden's claims, when Biden entered the WH there was a plan and infrastructure in place, and people were getting the vaccine. Biden was one of them back in DEC.
Trump did not institute a martial law like plan in locking down the country. I think he knew he would be accused of being "literally Hitler" had he done so. He left it up to the state's governors. We can see how each state was/is doing.
Was it prudent at the onset to take precautions until more was learned? Yes. But then as more information became available, we should have eased the shutdowns and protected the vulnerable (i.e. The Great Barrington Declaration).
But by then this whole thing was politicized.
