I was just told the new stimulus and unemployment bills have passed. What I cannot wrap my head around is how so many people can claim to dislike socialism, yet gladly accept this money. Every open business in town has a help wanted sign, yet everyone (republicans very much included) are excited they will be receiving another round of help. WTHeck? It hurts me to say this joke - forgive me, but perhaps Biden did win...

Stimulus is me getting a small part of my taxes back...a sliver if you will. My tax money was already wasted on extra constitutional expenditures besides national defense and interstate infrastructure. The government borrows money to refund some of my taxes so the practical effect is it borrowed money to payoff stuff it already paid for.

OK, I'll give you that. But it does not change the fact many (not all) people these days just don't want to work.
 
Covid has put people on unemployment that never expected to be unemployed. People have worked years, giving their all to jobs and careers to have all that wrecked by a Chinese bioweapon. They have paid taxes for years and will find new employment.
I will take the two silver linings in that 1.) the democrats and rinos have unknowingly admitted that higher taxes hurt the working people and demanded stimulus (or stimulus tax refunds for those working) to help the people. 2.) Make no mistake, despite covid, most people employed in 2019 are still employed today and the stimulus will essentially be tax refunds for them. The Chinese loans will never be paid back and the stimulus will be used to pay off debts or buy lots of firearms -I imagine about 74 million in total. If China ever attempts a land invasion, they will have paid for the firearms used to repel them.

Admittedly, my micro-rant was directed toward the younger generation that has found unemployment to be easier than finding a better job. It was not intended as an attack on people who spent 20+ years dedicated to building a career. To those people, by all means, enjoy the relief! As for china, we have owed them money for decades, and our intention to not pay it back has been common knowledge for just as long. Although, I will say, we have definitely paid it back countless times over buying their **** products online! I understand the stimulus will be (if the same as the last one) a tax refund, but the countless people sucking off the unemployment titty when they barely qualify (or qualify fraudulently) is shocking to me.
 
MN, there are two sides.

I'm with you, 100% against these giveaways/redistribution programs.

But, if they vote to throw money around, I have 2 choices. Pull a small cut of it, or let it all just blow away in the wind. And some of us pay a big part of this, but are considered 'too rich' to partake in the handouts.

And let's break this down. $900 billion. There are 330 million people. So that works out to $2,700 per person. Married? $5.4 should go your way! Ah, but it gets better. There are only about 150 million taxpayers. The people really paying for this. That works out to $6k per person, and $12k for a married couple. Anyone think they're going to get their 'share' of this?

I'd 100% support deleting all these handouts. The stimulus, unemployment, SSI, food stamps, welfare, all of it. If you didn't pay into it, it's not yours. (ok, I'll allow SS for now as it's basically our money coming back at a 1% rate). You'll be amazed at how many people suddenly become employed with they are hungry and facing homelessness. Some would call it a lack of compassion, I view it as giving people motivation to support themselves and THAT is true compassion.

Yeah, I get that. Nobody wants to start at the bottom pushing a broom at the hardware store when the only other person they see doing it is the school janitor. Some seem to not understand that money comes from a job where they work and get paid.
 
I have worked all my life and soon to be retiring within the next five years. I'm not great at mathmatical calculations but the government has agreed to pay $600.00 to approximately 300 million Americans, The bill is for a staggering $900 billion which means 80% percent is going to special interest and government programs. No thank you, I don't need your crumbs.
 
Jesus, this **** isn't free money, this is an unsustainable debt to the tax payers. Not only is the Government putting everyone further in debt, this debt is destroying everyone freedoms on top of the destruction of G'damn jobs. The government is destroying people souls overs this so-called pandemic, look beyond the now!

The G'damn so called free world deserves its own demise by allowing the Government to continue this fxxken ****, human race is pathetic.

The people and businesses need to rise and tell the government no more of this **** in mass. The problem is the majority coward to the well of the Governments that allow this destruction so in essence no plan just disgust.
 
And these are the few Republicans who again showed themselves to not be Rinos by NOT voting for this bill full of predictable Dem pork: More $$ for foreign countries' projects actually, than for the American people struggling. And again, we bail out the airlines, like they are hurting any more than the small businesses across America. And they doled out money to banks that make loans to minorities. Well, that sounds good on the surface, but I don't think we should EVER be bailing out banks for anything! They, with their Great Reset Agenda, sit at the top of the Globalist ladder causing all this economic disaster to begin with IMHO!

An empty belly is the best "stimulus" there is for the unemployed.
Even in my town of 500 people every business has a help wanted sign out. The local saw mill has had a permanent help wanted sign for a couple years now.
So the wife and I will get $600 each, maybe. Depending on the income cap. $600, BFD. Just cut our outrageously high income tax and f$#k this stimulus bullsht. Its just more buying votes.
 
Somehow we (conservatives) have to accept the fact that over half of our population is already sucking off the government tit. And over half our population supports socialism. We are no longer a Constitutional Republic. We are now officially a socilist democracy. Its very hard to accept what we, and past generations, have allowed our country to become. Our country will never again be what it once was.
