We will be getting our cold front in a few days from now getting down to the 30's which is COLD for us. Hope you guys have your firewood put up and ready to use. I took out some ham hocks to defrost. Going to put a pot of beans on the wood stove while it's going on high heat ;)

Maybe Danil54grl will invite Al Gore over for some beans and ham hocks so that Al can remember life as a real human being, or maybe not. Beans, ham hocks and cornbread are one of my favorite meals. What a fraud Al Gore turned out to be. Greta should heed Al's failure at "climate change".

leveling off on the temps - another COLD dip this weekend - no 20s forecasted until the 17th of the month >>> on average it should be the last of these artic dips - unusual to have one in February ....

My daughter reports -10° C in north Germany and lots of snow, 250 km south...0° C and rain, a further 250 km south it is +20° C and sunshine...crazy weather...kinda like snow in San Fransisco, rain in LA and sunshine in San Diego...

I can confirm this. Very weird, but still global warming is a hoax.

Minus 7 here in NE England and 18 inches of snow, bitter 30 mph winds coming in from Russia., So pretty typical English spring day :)

By heck we are getting very Bohemian here, UK, Finland, Switzerland , Croatia its getting like the Eurovision song contest, or Its a Knock Out.

Germany votes for Austria and Vice Versa, Finland votes for Sweden and Vice Versa, Croatia votes for Bosnia even though the Serbian song is better, Switzerland votes for Italy and Vice Versa and no one votes for the UK cos they all hate us :)

Its about 10 above here now. Probably 10 below tonight. Australia always looks good this time of year. Are there any downsides to living there?

Yes Australians :) the bloody place is full of em, those not to be found drunk in London.

It'll be 3 (F) for tomorrow's high. Ice might be thick enough by the end of the weekend that I can get out and fish on it, a pretty rare thing for this latitude.

...but rare weather keeps getting more common around these parts...

My wife and I got wood. The wood shed is about 40 feet from the house. One wheel barrel heats the house for 2 days. About 4 big armloads. It was a little above 0 F. The snow is like baking soda and squeaks under your feet. The wind blew about 40 mph. A gust blew snow off the shed and down into my coat around my neck. Not fun I thought. Then I thought about the folks that lived right here a few thousand years ago.
She "Honey I just had another baby. I'll go wash him off in the snow."
He "Is that number 6, or 7?"
She" That 8 but only 2 are alive now."
He " I'll take this stick with a sharp rock tied to it and go cut down a tree and drag it back for firewood."
She " Can you pick up some groceries on your way home?"
He "Sure if I see a critter and it doesn't eat me first. If I make it home I'll spend a relaxing afternoon
Making arrowheads and spearpoints.
We talk about surviving. And getting ready for shtf. Can you imagine hard was for them? I drove to town in a heated car on slick roads. Even in this tiny town I was amazed how much stuff was on the shelves in the grocery store and how little work it was for me to get them. When I got home I spent a relaxing afternoon reloading. Those people back then were tough! Can you imagine living without cars, electricity, cell phones.
food from the store, or birth control? I hope we don't find out, but we may. Solution, Prep More.
