My nephew got out of NO Friday without any problem. Anyone that waited until yesterday or today is nuts. But saying that someone who lives in NO is nuts is redundant, LOL
People got out all day and night yesterday with no problem, only took about 2 hours to clear from any traffic.
Even the Texas coast line be a fool place to live.i live 100+ miles inland.even here we've been hit with serious storms and strong winds that took down trees.

Power out , .......... wind starting up . no major trees down yet. Still have channel 8 news N.O. on the box , they look a little worried.
I just went on generator power 25 minutes ago.
Same here , just heard 20 plus barges loose in the MS river . not good.
glad to see you got the Gen powering the internet. Probably better new source in an emergency than TV.
I reworked the 6 circuits in my house to handle it.
May have to move the coffee maker to the living room. But I did keep the bedroom fan on too.
Powered down want we don't need ......... After Katrina , I was out of power for 6 weeks ......... brother , that was TOUGH , and it was HOT.
Stay safe y'all. My family is in southern MS but we remember Katrina and they are ready. I am driving over there on Wednesday so we'll see how it goes. This is the third time in the last two years that a major hurricane has come just days before a scheduled trip across Louisiana.
