Yep, he was a good man.
So much revisionist history has become entrenched in most Americans' minds, even when someone tries to look at it objectively, it's still mostly revisionist thinking. I applaud him for his effort but he still missed the mark by a mile.
Why was slavery legal in the United States before, during, and after the Civil War? The Emancipation Proclamation only applied to the Confederacy. Lee surrendered April 9th. The 13th Amendment went into effect December 18th. During that period of time, it was up to the Union states to decide whether slavery was legal or not. Delaware was a slave state up until the ratification of the 13th Amendment in December - without Delaware's vote. Delaware didn't ratify the 13th amendment until 1901.

That is exactly what they are saying. In today's "Newspeak" words have been redefined to serve the liberal ideology, from "marriage" to "racism." Even "good" and "evil" have the opposite meaning from before. Looting and burning down a store = "good".
