Hello all I am new here and still new to prepping. I am looking for opinions on what the best mini shovel and ax kit is. And where to find them. Thanks for your help in advance.

Cheaperthandirt.com
excellant source for stuff like that.
Not sure whats available near you, but garage/yard sales, military surplus stores and Goodwill are worth looking at for items.

Good luck

I'm assuming this is for a BOB? I've always wondered about the shovel. I mean, I have one in mine too, but other than digging out a firepit or latrine, not so sure what else I'd do with it.

I will probably try out the cold steel shovel. I will let you all know what I think of it. Thanks again fir your help.

The Z-tool is a shovel, axe and saw with a hollow handle. Its also damn tough.

Mine is similar, hollow handle, also a saw and a knife (vs. saw and an axe). Though I got it at WalMart, it has proven to be pretty damn tough. I'd have to check for brand though. Very solid and well made.
