Well another year is upon us we managed to weather the storm in what was an interesting year in 2016....We all know 2017 will bring more challenges. So with all that what are your predictions for 2017? What do you see happening on the global stage and where you live?

Politics in the USA have become way less predictable. No one, pro or anti the new Trump administration really have any idea or any way to predict where it's all going. We need to be very vigilant. Serious shtf situations could arise quickly. We need to make sure our personal political prejudices don't cloud our critical thinking skills and objective information gathering.

My predictions for 2017: I expect to see the Republicans roll over and try to "work" with the Leftist Dems rather than use their majority to reverse 8 years of obomit. I expect to see more pandering and coddling to certain demographics, more third world invaders coming in to our country, continued higher taxes, higher fuel costs, higher costs for everything, more rules and regulations, we will lose more liberties and freedoms in the name of "security". The so-called war on terror will continue with no real desire to win, the muzzies will continue to spread unchecked across the globe like a disease, and nobody has the backbone to stop them. More money will be poured into the military industry with hopes of a new war somewhere. I hope I'm wrong. Time will tell....

Rosie O'Donnel will be crowned Miss World, Kermit and Miss Piggy will marry, The Mormon Church will start paying taxes, Californians will finally get some fashion sense, England will become the 51St State, Hilary Clinton will go to jail, the NRA will support gun control, Maverick will move to LA, Homosexuality will be made compulsory in TX, A New Yorker will be seen to smile, Clyde will post stuff OTHER than radios. Gazrok WILL admit Babylon 5 is the ultimate in Sci Fi, Jonnte will still says he is moving out of Helsinki, Articdude with move to Arizona to get warm. I will keep bitching about not living in the US........ Billy will join Black Lives Matter, Brent will join the Democrats, Jim LE will admit the best warrior in the 1776 war was Benedict Arnold

Actually I was thinking more like wintering in Thailand.

Soros seems to still be hell bent on creating a race war in the US, so sure we'll see more BLM incidents there. I think we'll see a huge increase in the amount of Muslim-related terrorism also, though smaller in scale for each attack, vs. a large-scale one. I think the press will continue to try and ridicule Trump at every turn, at the behest of their masters.

I think we'll see the GOP move to a super-delegate system, so the powers that be can ensure they aren't blind-sided again.

The POTUS is considered the leader of his political party. Combine that with the fact that the current RNC Chairman will become Trump's Chief of Staff, and I'd have to say that Trump's teams IS the "powers that be."

Talking more about who is pulling the puppet strings...specifically who is pulling Ryan's..... When Presidents come and go, these are the folks who are really influencing the elections, and policy.

Gazrock yea I kinda temporarily forgot about the blm. Im sure your right, there will be more incidents. There were "empowered" the last 8 years and now now are angry and feel slighted more then usual simply becuase of the election. but I suppose its easier to blame and hate the rest of society for them then to admit the truth and take responsibility for thier own lives. Just like thier issue with law enforcement, they blame cops not their criminality problem

Soros has just turned his back on the EU, he was one of the most PRO EU supporters alive but even he now says its doomed because its turning into a clone of the USSR, I can see it fighting the US if it keeps going the same way and we Brits will stand with the US, THEN you MFers will finally understand that Britain IS Americas best friend.

mom n me watched a documentary a while back.in which there were 2 or 3 other riders with him, when he rode out to give the warning with the lantern and all.and if i remember right,it was a woman who rode into the town he was suppose to instead.im also thinking, that he was quiet a few mile back, for some sort of delayed reason(s)..i think it was fact or fiction we watched it on..

No way, New Yorkers can't smile!

I won't even try to predict what will happen this coming year. I am sure of one thing though. I will continue to focus on trying to become more energy independent and self sufficient with food. Both of these are wise investments whether the world goes to **** or continues on as it is. At least I will be able to heat my home and have lights and will not only eat, but will do so a little healthier.

Globally, I see this being the year Robert Mugabe will finally drop off his perch and I think Africa will have some major upheaval to deal with if he does. The Middle East will continue to be unstable, The EU is panicking and likely to split into two factions, the old guard of France Belgium, Italy, Germany, Luxembourg and the Netherlands in one corner and everyone else in the other . If it happens before Brexit finalises, I can actually see Great Britain joining forces with those countries that want a more controlled EU.
On a personal note, I want to increase my savings, buy that property, grow more food and preserve it and generally make my home as inflation proof as pssible because I believe things are going to get more expensive as all of the above takes place.

Various NGOs are reporting that another 15 million migrants are planning on leaving Africa for Europe this year, Wife just came back from Italy and says they are everywhere agressively begging, offering to park shopping trollies or load bags into cars in exchange for the EURO coins out of the shopping trollies, trying to forcibly sell bangles to tourists, molesting females, burgling, tresspassing, shitting in public etc.

I like your attitude with making the best of it for yourself. I'm smart enough to know I can't control the big picture like the economy or global events. I can do things to minimize their effect on me though. I also agree with inflation kicking in this year being more likely.

Economies cannot take such a large influx of people. It's possible, with good management to help though. Suddenly you have this huge labor force available. Since most of them are receiving some sort of govt handout, why not make them work for it. There are plenty of municipal projects that have been put off due to cost, or possibly agricultural projects. At this point you have two choices. Either deport them all or put them to work. If they are able bodied but don't want to work, then their deported. Oh, crime of any kind, instantly deported. Just thinking out loud here.

Geography can not take those sorts of numbers never mind economies, though most EU economies are already on their knees. much of Europe is already heavily over crowded by US standards and the UK is obscenely over crowded. We need an extra 3 million houses just to accommodate those already here, our health services, schools and public services are maxed out, our transport systems at or over capacity. Thats before we consider the implications of millions of mainly poorly skilled, poorly educated people often who have never had access to healthcare systems, who are penniless and from cultures completely alien to our own turning up DEMANDING housing, jobs, money, healthcare, clothing, food, cell phones etc. The threat to the predominantly white, christian northern European modern liberal culture from these migrants is as damaging as the arrival of the Pilgrim Fathers in the US to the Native Americans.

Apart from casting my vote and badgering my MP on a regular basis (both of which I do) I'm like you, there's little I can do about the big picture, just try and mitigate it's effects on my family as best I can.

I think that rampant inflation will be an issue for 2017.

The U.S. national debt continues to grow, yet our GNP remains the same.

What happens when spending outstrips earnings?

Bankruptcy!

At one point in Zimbabwe, a beer cost more than 1.5 trillion Zimbabwe dollars.

Fiat currency is just paper.

Part of the problem is that Americans (like myself, for example) are very wasteful. We consume 1/3 of Earth's resources, yet account for less than 10% of the world's population.

I believe that this situation is part of the reason why there is so much poverty in the world, and poverty breeds crime and terrorism.

One day the world will wake up, and our dollars will mean nothing when our debtors call their notes in.

After that, dollars will be toilet paper and kindling.

For a lot of us that has already happened...Suck ass wages already do not keep up with the rate of inflation and every time I turn around something else goes up except the f'ing pay!

I have to disagree that poverty is the driving force behind crime. My family of three survives on less than $15,000 a year, and don't so much as jaywalk. The fact is that the poorest White area in the U.S. has lower crime rates that the wealthiest black areas, which is why when it comes to prepping, demographics is a more important consideration than climate. For 2017, I predict continuing polarization and division as America moves towards balkanization.
