The past week we have had 6 cases o typhoid fever reported in Johannesburg, and in Zimbabwe there was 16, all aparently recovered if you could believe anything that comes along government channels from that country.

The fact is that there are just too damned many people in the world. To many, to close together. A fast spreading disease is just waiting to happen. we have been able to stop them for now, but it's just a matter of time before something gets out of hand.

The virus itself isn't bad, it's like a cold, some women don't know they even have it.
But it causes a disorder in children born to those women that leads to a lifetime of learning disorders at the least, severe seizures, paralysis, nerve damage/nerve pain, and other horrifying symptoms at the worst, and very often early death. Many children born exposed to this virus won't ever be able to take care of themselves in any way and will suffer through their lives, requiring constant care from medical professionals.

The government of El Salvador has told women there not to have children for at least 2 years due to the effects of the virus, which many don't even know they have, but which can cause massive birth defects for several years after infection. It's only a matter of time until it spreads North to the US. Women in el Salvador are having serious trouble with this because birth control and condoms are all but unavailable, it's extremely expensive and hard to get, and abortion is punishable with life in prison. they're going to have a whole generation of severely damaged children due to these factors, it's going to affect the area for many years, straining mothers and the health care system. I saw an article that says permanent sterilization is their most easily accessible birth control there and many women are opting for that rather than giving birth to children they feel they can't care for. At least women here can take birth control if they are infected so they can wait until the virus's effects are over. I can't even imagine being infected with a virus that would cause my children to be born with something that causes lifelong seizures and pain. I really hope it doesn't spread here.

Exactly. Let's not get too worked up over this. As mentioned above, the only real concern with this one is the effect on a fetus. (which is still nasty). But, this isn't exactly Ebola.

Basically, the treatment regimen is the same you'd follow for the common cold, if you're a dude, or a woman who isn't pregnant, and doesn't plan to be for some time.

Engineered or not, when it comes to a "new" virus that spreads like hell fire and targets unborn babies, this makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end, cause it just rings Agenda 21 to me. Population control not allowed to have children if you don't buy our vaccine, "which they already have". This virus is so specialized that it only targets brain development in unborn children????? It uses the the perfect transport system "mosquitos".

Measles and Rubella have very similar effects, many serious viruses cause this problem in infected fetuses, for unknown reasons. It's one of the things that makes those viruses so scary.

Pretty simple really, a virus works by DNA replication, so by definition, it is going to MOSTLY affect any biological process depending on this...which is primarily developing fetuses. If it were engineered, it would lead to death, not deformity.

The zika virus was known back in the 50s, with the free flow of people from these third world nations today makes any virus potentially dangerous, I'm waiting for some these once obscured viruses to merge becoming hybrids. Man creates the conduit Man causes Man own damnation.

Facts first, the zika virus is not new, South America is known to get African and Asian mosquito's on an annual bases through what is called the equatorial belt one of the reasons why Brazil was chosen for the GMM given that the equatorial belt runs 75% through Brazil with that said, I don't believe man should be messing with GM on any level period!, where this article really goes astray is in the end of the article "recent UK TV series "Utopia" suggests it could be a deliberate plan to reduce the global population" This is were I say BS.

Could the GMM have created/caused this, a slight possibility but highly doubtful, if one looks at the current weather system and climatology reports for the last couple of years one would see a changing pattern that is facilitating a lot of these viruses, also, 700 million people get a mosquito borne illness each year resulting in greater than one million deaths, here is a small listing of mosquito borne illnesses also remember many of these mosquito's ride the equatorial belt
