It's been cold. Not having heat, aside from a small space heater (desk top sized) that has to point at the pipes, has been taxing.

I'm sick, and that isn't helping. Hot showers are great, 37 degrees in the bathroom isn't.

I'm looking at it as a training exercise. I could order a new regulator right now, but I'm holding off. The pipes aren't going to freeze, and I can handle it. But I feel tired, working outside wet and windy and cold, then still cold inside...

Still, not a bad winter so far. And I'm saving on Nat Gas, lol.

It warmed up to 42 degs today! I was able to unplug the chicken water heater and refill the pigs water barrel. What little snow that we have left is hard to spot.
Does this mean that global warming is real? Or is it just a normal fluctuation in something that we used to call "weather".
it's normal,,,,,

It has been cold, wet and nasty out for the last week. Tomorrow will be the last day to be in the 30s so that will be nice. Even though we had the wood stove going in the bedroom I wanted to knock off the chill in the main part of the house so started my morning with baking hunny some Cowboy Cookies, which is his favorite and yesterday was his birthday. Unscrewed the lights in the oven and left that sucker wide open along with starting a fire in the fireplace. It helps knock down the chill with the blower on but nothing comparable to a wood stove. Then started canning some chicken broth that I had in the fridge from 10 lbs chicken I boiled up at 29 cents a lb. Couldn't pass that up and we got 40 lbs this week. 10 lbs boiled. another 10 minus 4 quarters for gumbo. 4 quarters plus another 20 lbs frozen. Hunny was talking about adding in a second wood stove which would be great. He wants to add it in front of the current fireplace, which would limit my furniture placement in the living room even more than I already have and we are already rather small. My solution was get rid of the big ### tv he just purchased along with the antique dresser he put in on and we put it in the corner of the living room. That way I can still get behind it and clean the floor and windows in the corner of the room without having to heave and hoe, then try to maneuver myself in odd spaces . . . oh wishful thinking on my part. I was happy when the big screen went out and he downsized with the backup out of the RV. . . . Anyway, I am currently hauling wood for only one now and I got the stove in the bedroom. Hunny's watch is on the fireplace in the living room which uses three times the wood.
