it would be foolish if she was standing in the yard with it,it is a pretty darn big deer,but from a window it can just reach not so bad,,,I am surprised it will let her touch it,,,,,we have fed them in the yard over the years but never even thought about getting close to one,,,I was never that brave,I know what they can do

That was awesome. I agree with doc about feeding wild animals is a bad idea for the animal, but I think that was really cool.

I agree, but the privelage of being able to pet a majestic animal like that would be irrestable to me too! Seriously, that animal will pay the consequences for her crossing that line likely.

I have been able to feed deer running free at the state parks when I was younger, but never one that came to my home. They normally just jump our fences to get to the water and then off they go. That is pretty neat. They are beautiful animals to watch.

I agree they really are beautiful animals. I've never shot one yet, but think I will before too long. I guess more for learning how than out of hunger. For now though I'm still content to admire them.

Then you haven't had any backstrap from a deer. Wonderful. As good or better than filet mignon. Now, you made me make myself hungry.....

Oh, I've had it, just someone else shot it. A friend gave me a deer if I paid the processing fee. And I agree about the blackstrap. The rest was a little tough, but that was really good. I made loads of jerky that was pretty good too.

friend was parked up in his caravan/trailer on a nature reserve one time, every morning 3 ducks would march to his door to be fed, he joked he was training them to go and sit in his oven! not sure if it was a joke!!
