Whoops! UK publishes celebrity home addresses by mistake

LONDON (AP) — British officials have apologized after mistakenly publishing the home addresses of more than 1,000 people who received special honors including singers Elton John and Olivia Newton-John.

The list also included Oscar-winning film directors, senior politicians and diplomats, popular athletes and people in sensitive defense roles.

The addresses were published online for about an hour late Friday when the Cabinet Office posted the recipients of New Year’s Honors, including knighthoods.​

Oops! I have little sympathy here. Somehow I’ve always thought it was obscene how we pay celebrities so much allowing them to live like kings. 90% of them have gated properties and security anyways so safety isn’t a huge issue here. Annoying photographers maybe.

I don't give any thought to the celeb's, they've probably all got minders anyway, its the little people, the crossing patrol lady, the childminders and the charity collectors who stand out in all weathers.
