I was going to put this in the "Nevada" section, down below, but the last post there was in 2017.... I have some land in Northern Nevada. I think, in 90% of the scenarios, I will be able to bug in, but I have to admit (and plan for) some scenarios that may require leaving. My question here - where would I go? Most of the scenarios that would require me to leave would fall under the category of natural disasters. I think social upheaval is likely a reason to stay. Can you help me develop a criteria choosing a second BOL? I have budget enough gas for 700 miles...I am hoping to have to pass through mountains that are at least a thousand feet higher than where I am leaving, to help separate me from the disaster behind me. What things are their to consider? WEST COAST IS OUT!!!!!

There is a plan "C" that far too few people really consider. We each need to consider that there are scenarios where will we will not survive. Death is an option, and reality is that we will all face it one day. We need to plan for that situation. And I'm not just hinting at faith. Things like a Will. Closing out relationship problems.

When a monster disaster like PY describes happens, there may not be an exit/survival plan that will work.

Excuse my ignorance....but what is PY?

Your looking for WATER, then woodlands / game, not to extreme in winter. Low pop density. 700 mile range takes you to the Canadian border so you could head up the Rockies to Montana and Wyoming all popular places for hard core survivalists, esp around Billings. I was truly amazed at the number of Off Gridders, Home steaders, Small holders etc I met in SE CO running up from Pueblo towards Salida and as far east as Garden City.
