Hey all. I was wondering where are some good places to go camping in Virginia. I would like to stay south of D.C. and east of Sussex or Greensville. Thank you for the help

Head down to southwestern Virginia, Giles County to be exact. A ton of superb camping, checkout the Cascades area or Dismal Swamp area. Great Camping, limited amenities and an excellent place to scout yourself a bug-out location!

Good Question!
Both areas are located in the Jefferson National Forest. I'm confident you can pull up the National Forest map online. Giles and Bland Counties are quite rural, lots of water, vegetation, and wildlife. Grew up there, still have family in this area and it is a stellar bug-out location. From Virginia Beach, it is about 5 hours due west.

Prince William Forest Park. Though, there are amenities, you can camp where there are NONE. Your choice. It's a nice place that's well taken care of in the formal campgrounds, and there is backwoods camping where you're on your own.

northcreek campground in jefferson county, I use to camp there before it become a popular camp ground with hunters back in the day when it was very primitive, it is somewhat primitive today according to family, it had a nice creek, it has been awhile since I was there.
