I’ve got fresh asparagus from the garden covered in mozzarella, a Mexican tatertot casserol and this about to come off the grill. Life can be so good at times!

You guys got me to thinking about the old days. When we turned 16, we found out we could drive just across the Tennessee line and drink at a bar. Used to get Strohs draft for $2 a pitcher, so you could get messed up for $6.... we did that until we got out of school. It still amazes me that I didn’t kill myself driving or get the )$*##@ beat out of me. Un, and that I still have a liver...

Until the place closed finally about 10 years ago, the night before Thanksgiving was like a high school reunion up there. Pretty cool, actually.

I fixed a meatloaf with venison.mixed greenbeans corn early peas and sliced carrots together for my vegetables and German potato salad yesterday.handed out a serving of meatloaf to 3 or 4 neighbors after supper.

Today..fold over meatloaf sandwiches for lunch . Then another full meal tonight.

Yesterday I grilled/smoked me some St. Louis style beef spare ribs. Then I grilled some romaine lettuce with olive oil, sea salt, red n black pepper with a balsamic drizzle. I have bags of apple tree wood I cut up to use in my pit along with some home made charcoal.

Just roasted a pork loin in the Dutch oven with some vegetables. This is technically still lunch, but it will be dinner later on today as well! I used a little bit of Italian seasoning I just got recently bought in it and discovered a whole new flavor mix with the onions and garlic. There’s a little soy and woschester in there too. Turned out to be one of the best gravies I’ve made in a while. Everything is better with gravy on it!
