i would ask if yall wanna swap.but we done ate them ribs.. :D

Big pot of beef roast slow cooked, then added small red and white potatoes, carrots, onion, green pepper and celery, along with loads of seasonings and cooked for another hour. Oh, and jiffy sweet cornbread to go with it. I'm almost in pain from eating so much! I'll have beef stew for the next four days, yeah! No doubt why I have clogged arteries.

Still working on that pot of beef stew! I've had it for lunch and dinner for a couple days now. I don't think I would ever get tired of it....

The butcher made me an offer on oxtail I couldn't refuse so I am cooking it in the slow cooker 'Chinese' style with oyster sauce, chillies, garlic, ginger, honey and orange. It smells wonderful! To be served with a panfull of stir-fried veg.

Cottage pie would be traditionally made with lamb. With the ground beef it would be Sheppard's pie. And agreed, Mashed potatoes and ground beef are a great mix.

Oh no, no, no. 'Tis the other way round. Cottage Pie is made with ground Beef, Shepherds Pie with Lamb.;)

I'm relaxing in front of the tv finally after a long hard day. The show on is called, 'Alaska, the last frontier'. There's a couple fishing on it and they are bringing in 5 to 10 lb fish one after another. I am so jealouse! Some good batter fried fish sounds pretty good right now.

That's what I thought. After all a shepherd tends sheep, not cattle, right?

I have made "hunter's pie" with venison. In fact, thanks for reminding me, I have some venison stew meat I need to use to make another hunter's pie.

When I was small, muy mum had a recipe she called Hunters Pie. We weren't well off and Hunter's Pie consisted whatever meat my Dad had 'hunted' up, topped with potato. Sometimes it was rabbit or hare maybe a gamebird, occasionally venison, but that was only if he came across a fresh roadkill. I know we had Squirrel a time or two, you got so you didn't ask what was in that pie! The scariest was when you asked what was for dinner and mum just said 'pie'. You knew it was a meat free night then.

Just finished puting a big pot of chili together, and got the kitchen cleaned up. Now after simmering for 5 or 6 hours I'll have lunch and dinner for the next couple days. I really love one pot meals.
