This is a what the experts picture what might happen is america power grid was disabled by a cyber attach

real food for thought, i know I'm not from america but i just thought some of you guys will find this interesting and learn from it, maybe even help you prep better. its long but worth a close watch.

I had a relative that up to the 1980's would not step into modern times . You could drive by his house at nighy and see the glow of oil lamps and he used a wood stove to cook and heat . He used a well and bucket for water . I know not all Americans could handle it just remember quitters didn't build this Nation . "After the cold dark of night comes the warm rays of the morning sun "

There are a surprising number of scenarios that could knock out the grid. It's really more fragile and old tech than most realize. Not to mention, if something DID happen, it could take over a year to get the parts to repair it, for a major disruption, even in a non-SHTF situation.

Personally, we'd do ok, though some things would suck. Still, we'd have water, food, and we already have a lot of non-power backup options just as a consequence of living in a rural area (where blackouts aren't resolved in minutes, but many hours).

The kids are sunk though. Probably suffer some tech withdrawal embolism or something.

the power goes out in our country a lot lol sometimes days at a time. its called load shedding i call it money making lol but when it does happen it does not really effect me as 80% of my house hold is off the grid including water heating and home cooling the only thing that would make a big difference to me is if the entire grid goes down at once so after a few days my ISP will not be able to provide me with conectivity and no television lol that is not taking into acount my bank account, good thing i keep items of value other than cash.
few years back a tornado i hit my area, did not damage my house thankfully but took out areas power out for 3 weeks and in that time we had power but my neighbours did not, there was not much time for television and my PC, since i was more busy helping my neighbourhood rebuilding there housing and school. but the damage took us about 1 month to rebuild and till today its not the same.

Differant parts of the U.S have been without electricity for weeks or months at a time over the last few years from ice storm , tornadoes , and floods . There were some civil disruption , looting but most folks did what they needed to do to take care of them selfs and familys . That is some what of a glimps at what would happen on a short term outage .

i've often wondered how folks in my area would react to having no electric for at least a week..no way to get fuel for gas generators no way to go to town for fuel food meds etc etc..

From what I have been able to find out online, the device only works when the generator is attached. And he has not allowed anyone to actually inspect the device. He claims to invite people to test the device, but in fact, Wasif invites people to test the VIDEO with their own devices and computer sensors, but not the device itself.

In Wasif's own words:

"Firstly u will test our new video with ur instruments, sensors, computer, autocad then discuss on it. Test with ur devices and with computer sensors, scan technology with the help of ur scientists and engineers.
In a short time it will most successful, that a common man can afford it easily,it is very very cheap."

People have been trying to make magnetic motors for a long time. Hell, I even tried to design a magnetic motor when I was in middle school. There have been many scams involving magnetic motors.

The best guess is that inside that "generator" is an electric motor and batteries.

it was very suspect for me as well, from an engineering perspective i can see his principle behind it and from what i saw in the video it could just might work, but then again newton law of motion tells us energy cannot be created nor destroyed it can only be transformed into one form to another. but then again he might be wrong after all he was human lol and in my opinion energy can be destroyed example the heat lost due to metal expanding. that's why i posted it here, always good to learn what others think mybe even be correct sometimes

Well, just think, instead of figuring out what we need, we'd be living on what we've got! I'd miss all these debates, and receiving my issues of backwoodsman. Oh, I'll never get in an express elevator!

There are some things that would really suck without power. No AC for starters. In FL, that's just awful. No refrigeration either, and that really impacts quite a bit. Light is no big deal, because of storms and other power issues (critters getting fried in the transformers usually, out here), we have oil lamps as part of the decor of each room, that also work as alternate lighting. The other thing that would suck is no electric well. In the plan, we'll be adding a hand pump alternative that works in conjunction with it, but currently, if power is out for a while, and we go through water reserves, we're down to using an emergency bullet bucket in the well or purifying water in the rail barrels.

Yep, the lack of AC would suck big time in the Deep South. I vividly remember the sweltering heat at night at summer camp without AC. And going to summer school in the late 1950'2 without AC. (refused to go to summer school ever again)

I think I can survive the heat during the day, but trying to sleep through steamy hot nights is torture.

Yep, same here. During the day I can deal with it, but at night, I need the cold. Luckily, our home stays fairly cool without AC, compared to others I've lived in, but still hotter than I'd like it for sleeping. At least with power, there are fans to help. But, without power for the fans, that would suck.

i can sleep when its hot out n all..what bothers me,is when it gets stuffy in the house.

I think I could deal with everything except the fridge and freezer. I have a small wood burning stove that has a flat cooktop, and plan to set it up in some kind of outdoor kitchen sometime this summer. Cooking and everything else would be survivable, but having your food last is prett important. I do have a creek in the front that I could probably make some kind of block structure next to to help keep things cool, but the fridge is hard to beat. Getting a solar system to keep it and my freezer running is pretty high on my list.

yeah thats my main concern to..gotta keep refrigerated foods cold till eaten..heat i can deal with.even if the house was just a lil bit stuffy.i can deal with that to..

I know i am getting spoiled with an ac at night. Especially down here in Houston. When even at night, it is nice and warm.
