Practice social distancing.

Everyone wear a mask, the best mask you can, any mask is better than nothing.
The reason for this, it stops the infection rate to and from asymptomatic and symptomatic people. It keeps you from touching your mouth and nose. If you do get infected it reduces the viral load you receive which gives your body a much better chance to develop antibodies.

Increase your anti viral food intake and take anti virul supplements. Do light exercise and stop smoking, excessive alcohol. Lower your blood pressure without medications.

Discenfect everything you come in contact with regularly.

Testing should be done on everyone. Start with testing everyone in vital infrastructure like hospitals and then eperate, quarantine, treat those infected instead of quarantining everyone for 2 weeks. Instead of shutting down an entire department or household in quarantine. Test everyone as often as possible

Test everyone for antibodies, to determine who has had it.

Demand that our government leaders do these thing. There on TV , not wearing masks, not keeping distance. Not telling everyone the correct, complete information. They are for the most part idiots!

I find it odd that they tell us to do these things, and yet they don’t.

Kinda makes one wonder if they truly believe that it's as serious as they preach. "Do as I say, not as I do".

Most of our "leaders" have no idea of reality any more, they live off the land and party to rub elbows with their future money givers... They do have advisors to give them tips as to what to do and have writers to tell them what to say. THINKING HAS BECOME HARD WORK, that is why so many politicians avoid it. GP

"Leaders". That's part of the problem. They're supposed to be elected representatives, only. But over the years we've become complacent and have expected them to assume the role of our "leaders/masters".

I finally saw an article that they are "rethinking" their guidelines and considering recommendations that everyone wear a mask. I have been saying the whole time that it would help slow the spread (even if it still wouldn't stop it completely). I guess the ones in control are finally catching up to common sense.

I don’t think it’s that they are catching up to common sense. I think they knew all along and knowingly told us not to wear masks so that there would be more for hospitals and first responders. Now that more masks are being made, they want everyone to wear one. It’s this sort of thing as to why I don’t trust the government.

It's every man and women for themself. When those in charge do not know what to do, their advisors all have different ideas and plans, it only gets more mixed up than it was in the first place...take care of your family, they will and are doing the same with their inside information, more money, bigger bunkers and long laid plans. stay within your own property as much as possible, only go out as infrequently as possible-once a week is my limit, and try to distance yourself from others when you do-minimum 2 meters or around 6feet. being removed from other people-people not of your household- is the best thing to do.

Isolation is the most effective tool we have right now. It sucks but it’s all we have for those of us in the higher risk category.

I got a text message late last night from work saying that we can wear mask now. We will have to provide our own for the time being until they can get some to issue to us. That was really nice to hear. I already try to distance myself from the public by working the overnight shifts, only working 3-4 hrs around co workers who come in later than me, washing hands often and sanitizing everything I touch upon arrival and throughout my shift, but this is added protection.often

my mom and her husband are both having a hard time staying at home. Both have COPD, but her husband's is bad, being on oxygen on occasion and has been hospitalized numerous occasions. They don't like to cook and used to go out for every meal. And travel was another thing they liked to do so this has been a big change for their lives. At first they weren't taking this virus seriously but now they do. They are staying at home. . . So mom tells me. Talking with her yesterday I was telling her this will be going thru the summer at least. She tells me she can not stay home that long. Had to explain to her that she would be iffy for survival of she got this virus but it would be a death sentence for her husband. I feel like I am talking to a brick wall with her. I'm not trying to be mean but gosh darnet she just wants to argue. There is no reason she cant. Kids bring them supplies, groceries, and dinners. Then yesterday, Gov Abbott says that churches can again hold services again, being essential to the public as long as social distancing is practised . . . There is no way either mom or her husband would go into church and not start hugging everyone in sight. I have a feeling she will want to go when she finds out . . .

staying home is normal for me, i'm a home body anyway.
isolation is the best remedy when this virus travels person to person.

I think if someone tells me I can’t wear a mask because I might scare someone I would likely tell them to fu#k off. Seriously....
Around three weeks ago I went into Walmart with mask and gloves on when hardly anyone else did. One young girl I passed a couple times in the isles looked at me strangely. I have a feeling her mother would have warned her to stay away from crazy people that overreact. I am not doing any of this for fun nor care what others think about it. Just keep yourself as safe as possible. Oh, by the way, wearing a mask sucks. Very uncomfortable and inconvenient. Worth the issues though.
My wife was fighting the stay at home thing too at first. Kind of like a child that’s been told no and that makes them want it even more. Luckily the news has opened her eyes to the reality of things now. And seriously other than drs visits she didn’t go out much anyways before. Good luck containing your parents but a gentle touch usually gets more results. You know like guilting them with ‘don’t you know how much I need you’ kind of thing....

I've been doing the " gentle touch' with her for weeks. . . She is head strong and does what she wants when she wants. When I told her it would be a death sentence, she laughed and says she wouldn't go anywhere. . . But that was before church was opened back up.

My N100 masks are actually pretty comfortable. I bought them for working on hard woods with toxic dust like ebony which have extremely fine particles. They are big enough to allow a fair amount of air to pass through even though the filter is much denser than N95. They will filter out 99.97% of particulate matter and they have a much better seal than the N95 masks.

95%, 99% and 99.97% don't sound that different until you compare the relative amount of particulate matter that passes through.

5% of matter passing through a N95 filter is 5 times as much as the 1% of a N99 filter, and 166.6 times as much as the 0.03% passing through a N100 filter
1% of matter passing through a N99 filter is 33.3 times as much as the 0.03% of a N100 filter

They are much stranger looking than the N95 masks though...

I've been isolated sort of, the only thing that gets on the property from the outside is mail and packages that gets dropped off at the end of the driveway.
Same here Mav. Our mail box is 2 miles from the house, and we have 3 locked gates on our road, 2 of which have electric openers powered by solar. When we get a delivery that's too big for our box the driver will text me and we'll meet somewhere, or he'll leave it behind our first gate.
Other than my wife being stuck at work in another state, nothing has changed for me. I never made any frivolous trips off the property before the "lockdown" anyway. But like I keep saying; life goes on. I still go to the feed store, hardware store, lumber yard and the grocery store whenever I need to. Like you Mav, just my location and lifestyle is already more "self isolated" than most people are who have locked themselves in their home.

I've been self quarantined since Feb 25th when I got a dry cough and fever. I haven't said anything because I didn't know what I had and there was no way to get tested because I didn't fit the parameters. But I was sick for over a month with a full range of respiratory problems and it affected my ears and eyes too. The more I read about peoples symptoms, the more it sounds like I had it.

I have to wait until they have an antibody test to see if I really had it. I hope I did!
