Took T-bone in for slaughter. . . 1800 lbs of black Angus beef!! And also picked up Porkchop, my Bluebutt pig. He weighed right at 450lbs. My freezers are getting stocked! I maybe strange, but I asked for Porkchop's head, since I plan on making headcheese out of it. Just can't do this until after this week since my calendar is full so it is in the freezer right now.

Watched my Grand Pa make sause meat in a big stainless press when I was young it was great with crackers . Spicy .

I always say don't knock it till you try it, but head cheese sounds really bad! I have a little phobia with eating brains! My son and I were eating a couple squirrels he shot, and I jokingly said to be careful about mad squirrel disease. Well he googled it and sure enough, in the Appalachians there have been several cases of mad squirrel disease from eating their brains. Hope I didn't spoil your dinner! Lol. I'm really jealouse with the cow, beef is my kryptonite. How much beef do you net after slaughter? By the way, I'm doing my best not to name my little bunnies!

Congratulations! Keep up the great work! You sound so busy. Just remember that along the way during your efforts to stop and give thanks. Enjoy your hard work and wish you well!

Once you have had home raised beef, the stuff at the store just taste plain and tastless. Even the lower cuts of meat are very tender. I even prefer wild hog over the pork they sell in stores. Whatever you take in, expect 60% weight to be in meat. Just don't give in and name any bunnies, unless you are like me and name after a food item. . . Ribeye, T-bone, Porkchop. . . If I know it will be raised for slaughter, it's a food name. We had 2 black angus bulls, which at first I called Horns and No-Horns, but it just didn't stick too long.

I bet it taste better. I like wild hogs myself! I wish that we were able to have a dairy and beef cow. Heck for that matter I wish we had more land. The people that we prep with have chickens. It's a good start. Enjoy all of your hard work!! Eat a steak for me too!:)

oh thats good. I am fully prepared to go eat fish for a really long time. Typically Tilapia, Cichilids and Cat fish, maybe a little snake head along the way.

pigeons and mynahs are gonna provide bait...

Steel head trout is my fav, but Tilapia is good

we don't have trout over here in SG. but Tilapia is in abundance :D

fortunately. Eating it everyday will get tiring though... must look into rearing some wabbits

mama, its snake head, its a type of fish... lol..

its really good when its fresh. after cleaning the fish and slicing into strips/pieces, season with a little salt and pepper then put them in a bowl.

Bowl some hot water, let it roll a little.

Pour hot water in bowl, give it 3 to 5 mins.

Fish soup. Works with noodles or rice. :)

So you're telling me you just got about 1000lbs of fresh farm raised beef, need a roommate? I bet I could polish that off in about a month! Who needs side dishes with steak.

Just think of a snake as a handicapped lizard! What, still no sympathy? Don't feel bad, everybody has a phobia of something, I'm creeped out by large furry spiders.

Handicapped lizzard... MY @ss! :p Spiders have legs!! I don't mind anything that has legs! I Hate snakes cuz they are EVIL! EVIL, I say! They are so bad that is why God took their legs away!!!

Brent, I will take care of the spider and you can take care of the snakes! LOL
