that'll last about 2 months, okay for short term events, after that you'll need a secure source of water that is not on the mains, a spring or a well say. have you considered a larger container for water? water butts or one of those larger commercial units.

5 L per day, seems kinda much,I would go with less, for drinking 2-2,5 l per day,so if that's only for drinking it will last more that 2 months.

I think the recommendation is 2.5 litres/half a gallon for drinking purposes, then you've got cooking, washing up and laundry etc.etc. that's per person, 5 litres per day is possibly a bit high but if I allow that and I use less then i'm winning.
allow high rather than allow low.

think it's easier for me here,at the moment,as I could always go down to the river for washing water, only 500 yds or so,so for the moment
I only think of drinking H2O.

I have but don't have the space to put one.
That's also one reason I posted about solar panels, I've got 2 water distillers.
I've also got 6 210lt water butts

yes, a water butt is just the English name for a rain barrel, although I've always reckoned they were 45 gallons in size.
the blue plastic barrels are what dairy cleaner is delivered to farms in, I get them for nothing usually, plenty lying about-farmers have to PAY to have them removed so are very happy to give them away, they are also available on industrial estates-I know where 2 are at this very moment.

The recommendation is 1gal / 3.8L per day per person. I have 4x 55gal HDPE drums with stored water. That's enough water for 2 people for 3 months (plus some for the dogs). You want food grade drums filled with filtered and purified water. Tap water is sufficient if your local treatment methods are up to par, but to be safe I drop in an ozone bubbler for 15 min per barrel to sterilize the water.

Also, depending on how you're storing the drums, you may need to get added equipment. Horizontally stored drums need bracing frames to keep them from rolling. Fifty-five gallons of water rolling in your foot is not fun. If storing drums vertically, you need a hand pump to fetch water from within without needing to tip the drums.
