Oh for Christ sakes, a little late are we, what an asswipe!

Coronavirus ‘rapid escalation and global spread’ has WHO chief ‘deeply concerned,’ he says

After the disastrous interview about Taiwan, WHO is now claiming they worked closely with Taiwan. And Taiwan is hitting back.

Taiwan Hits Back at WHO Over Collaboration Claims in Virus Fight
(Bloomberg) -- Taiwan rejected the World Health Organization’s claims it has worked with the island in combating the global coronavirus outbreak, adding fresh criticism of the organization’s handling of the epidemic.

Taiwan’s foreign ministry accused the WHO of being less than entirely truthful about its interaction with the island in a statement Monday, saying its information sharing with the Geveva-based organization was one-sided and hampered by political sensitivities.

TAIPEI Act - was passed by Congress with support from both parties and signed by President Trump. It went into effect on March 26th, 2020.
Taiwan Allies International Protection and Enhancement Initiative Act
Provisions of the TAIPEI Act state that the U.S. should:
  • Advocate, as appropriate, for Taiwan’s membership in all international organizations in which statehood is not a requirement and in which the United States is also a participant; and for Taiwan to be granted observer status in other appropriate international organizations;
  • To instruct, as appropriate, representatives of the United States Government in all organizations to use the voice, vote, and influence of the United States to advocate for Taiwan’s membership or observer status in such organizations;
  • To advocate, as appropriate, for Taiwan’s membership or observer status in all organizations as part of any relevant bilateral engagements between the United States and the People’s Republic of China, including leader summits and the U.S.-China Comprehensive Economic Dialogue.
‘Advocate, as appropriate’ seems kind of non committal to me.... China has put a lot of effort into reigning in Taiwan. I’m certain we will see them take it over during my lifetime. (If I make it thru this virus thing anyways).

I don't see it, Trump just sold a ton of weapons to Taiwan 2 weeks ago and is thinking of sending sophisticated weapons to Taiwan.

Maybe packing people together like sardines isn't such a great idea. While the real estate market will suffer this year, I think homes in rural areas with land to garden, wells/septic, good neighbors a safe distance away, just outside the cities will go up in value.

I know we have done some arms sales before too but still see China as determined to take their wayward child back. They may bide their time but I don’t see them stopping in their goals.

The ONLY thing that has stopped them is a little body of water called the Taiwan Strait and Taiwan's air superiority thanks to the US. (And possibly some undocumented nuclear warheads aimed at Beijing ;) )
