The American people are sick and tired of the corruption that is destroying America! We therefore declare a GENERAL STRIKE on the weekend of October 11-13, 2013! Truck drivers will not haul freight! Americans can strike in solidarity with truck drivers!

The shelves may be empty all across the country starting October 11!

I can't see very many risking their livelihoods to make such a statement.
Of course, likely not as many weekend deliveries, so would there really be a major impact? Now, if it was Mon-Wed...

This was thrown around when I was driving in the late 90's.

That being said I think it would be more effective if the strike was on Monday - Wednesday or Wednesday to Thursday than Friday - Sunday. Just my .02

I'm not seeing a lot of chatter about the truckers strike. I guess we'll find out one way or another starting tomorrow!
