Ya, I don't buy into this man-made shit, man's (human for the PC group) history has shown an ever changing weather pattern that keeps changing, man can't compare his time frame with geological time and claim his time frame a standard because geological time has proven man a fool!

There is geological evidence of changes in the environment not caused by mankind, no one can dispute that. But knowing how thin the atmospheric layer we depend on is, and seeing the images of huge smokestacks pumping out carbon dioxide and pollutants 24/7 all around the globe makes it hard to deny we aren’t adversely affecting the world. We know the affect of these gasses trapping heat. We have measurements of concentrations of these gasses in Venus’s atmosphere and it is a lot hotter than just being closer to the sun than earth is. That and the fact that 95% of the world’s scientists are warning us of the dire outcome of not changing is more than enough evidence for me. With all the data available today I just can’t believe anyone can still doubt it.

So what are you personally doing to reduce this man made climate change?

95% of the scientist are trying to protect their rice bowl and the other 5% are telling us the truth.

The point of the video, was to point out the disconnect our modern population has from it's food source and the high number of people that depend on food deliveries. Our current population has become more isolated from it's food source than the people in the video and our population has become even larger. Watch the video and then in your mind add several millions of starving people.

As an individual household I conserve better than most, but not as well as Arctic with being off grid and 100% solar. I over insulated this house and used 2x6 walls, used longer life materials like a metal roof and cement siding, designed it with southern facing windows that absorb heat in winter and open in summer to release it, cook with propane, etc. I also compost, garden, and recycle. I believe there is only so much an individual can do though. I also believe in the ability to vote though for someone that can make an impact on a national scale. Trump shows no concern for the ecology or future health of the planet, no one can deny that based on his policies. I also think some of the far left candidates are too nuts with wanting 100% socialism. Someone that wants to at least attempt to protect our air, water and land will get my vote.

It’s easy for threads to wander off topic.....

This is just MY opinion based upon not facts whatsoever. I am NOT a scientist or anyone who really matters. I just have a brain and try to logically put together the pieces knowing both sides LIE.

Climate change it a fact. It has been going on from the time the earth was first formed and will continue until it no longer exists. It does not matter if man is around or not. I also agree with Brent, in that all the pollution put out of those smokestacks has to have some impact. How much or how little is subject to debate and is above my understanding. But, I also agree that one massive volcano eruption will far exceed anything those smokestakes can produce and will have a far greater impact on the climate.

Now enters politics since the majority of the argument is totally political. My opinion, the that the cutting of the rain forest has the biggest threat to the climate. As far, the pollution from those huge smokestakes, China and India are the big polluters NOT THE US!!!!! Quite the opposite, I still remember the 70s where air was so polluted that you could not breathe in the big cities. Water so polluted, it would burn. The VAST majority has been cleaned up. Generally the air is much cleaner. There are some bad days but even the worse of today is no where near the levels in the 70s. Fish have returned to the rivers and they are greatly cleaned up. Meanwhile the politicians (especially the liberals) continue to put down the US when it was the US that HAS cleaned up their act. Look at all liberal "treaties". In most all cases, it punishes the US and NOT the true climate abusers. Meanwhile the US continues to be the "scapegoat" to draw the attention away from the real offenders.

OK, OK, settle down. I will get off my soapbox. While I am willing to admit there is something to the Climate Change issue, I get passionate about everyone blaming the US when they are the ones who have cleaned up their act.

I sometimes wonder if the current administration feels that with so many other countries polluting, and not likely to stop, that they feel it is useless to try. I do see the reality in this, and don’t feel very optimistic about the quality of life for future generations. I don’t believe giving up is a good option though. Nature has a way of dealing with species that over tax their environment. It’s been going on for millions of years. If we destroy the food chain that we depend on it’s just another example of how natural selection works by thinning us out too. Anyways, I do what little I can personally. Who knows, maybe science will be able to come up with solutions for the problems we are causing.

So Brent, are you saying the coronavirus is Mother Nature's way of dealing with China? :)
Yes, but unfortunately I don’t believe this will stay mostly in China’s borders. We are overpopulated in most places in the world, with too much close interaction for disease to spread. I still don’t see this as the pandemic to change the world, but if not this one then it is only a matter on time before one is bad enough to wipe out half of the worlds population.
