Really feeling the years slowly. I'm only going on 62, but I think, kinda like my car, the mileage is kicking my butt more than the years.........
I will miss my knees if and when they ever give out. So much work still to do in Hungary on the floors and building a new sidewalk and terrace. Hope they last so long. GP

Well, I'm not going down without a fight. I recently got Platelet Rich Plasma injections in both knees because they were getting so bad. It got to the point where just getting out of bed was an ordeal. One has been trouble free for a couple months now and the other is getting close.

I wrote it wrong, it's Platelet Rich Plasma, not Platelet Rich Protein (PRP for short).

First off understand that PRP is not a drug. They take a sample of your blood and run it through a centrifuge to separate out the platelets. Then they inject those into your knee. Everything comes from your own body. There are a lot of things you have to avoid when taking PRP injections. They work by actually causing an inflammatory response, so you can't take any kind of anti-inflammatory drug or supplement or it will defeat the purpose of the injections. No Vitamin A, no Glucosamine, no MSM, no aspirin etc. You can't even take Melatonin.

And things will actually get worse before they get better.

That's good to know. My friend's 5 year old daughter brought me a can of WD-40 because my knees and back were creaking and snapping when I squated to pick something up.

Heard a lot about WD-40. The company will not tell us what is in the stuff since it is non-food. But lots of farmers swear by it. Anything soaks through the skin and could maybe help. BUT, the side effects of any oil or such based materials might not be healthy. Short time help with the pain and all is ok, just don't know what types of aftermath is awaiting us...GP

I am 71 years of age, but i'm in better condition than most I see 20 or 30 years younger, probably due to my lifestyle.
I walk every day, I've just been out delivering the monthly parish magazine, i'm not religious but its my voluntary work for the community I live in.

I don’t think applying WD-40 to anything other than squeaky metal is a good idea....

Robin, when Granny was no longer able to take care of herself, a shower chair was invaluable. Maybe your mom is not at that point yet, her balance maybe an issue trying to bend over or the fact she just hurts. Keep in mind that a hand held shower head will also help at that time.

I installed a hand held shower head too. My son loves it. Lol

When we took our three dogs into the vets office for a check up this week I saw a can of WD 40 under his cabinet and had to smile. . . . I'm sure it was for the examination table, but still got hunny and I talking about how WD 40 benefits in joints.
