Terrorism in Australia

There is a current police operation following a gunman entering a small coffee shop in Martin Place in the centre of Sydney.

He is a middle eastern man in his 40'with a gun and backpack. Up to 50 hostages are inside but this is unconfirmed as he won't speak to police.

He then ordered hostages to hold up a Muslim extremist black and white flag.

The media have been pushed back but are speculating about the events.

Clearly a terrorism event but authorities are refusing to label the "T" word saying an offender has taken an undisclosed number of hostages suggesting a political motivation.

what I read here,the terrorist is from Iran,came from there as a refugee to Australia,already is a sex-offender,now this...great way the refugees treat their new home country

Yes, our first terrorist attack was by an Iranian refugee who came here, and went radical, culminating in this terror attack, and ultimately, his death!!
He did force the hostages (17 of them) to hold up an ISIS flag.
In the ensuing battle, 2 hostages were killed, and this muslim terrorist was given a one way ticket to Hell!

I could be here for hours debating the link with Islam to terrorism, but won't.
The threat of radical Islam is real, it's a threat, and it is a war being fought which does not play by the rules.
