worth opening your mouth sometimes, got a place to do the welding, now I'll just have get all the parts and spend some time welding ,drilling and hopefully it looks usable in the end ;)

i hope that you know.that we'll be wanting to see pic's once it's done.. :D

do I????
wouldn't post if I didn't put pics here:D

finally able to start getting stuff together for this, alot easier when exam is over...think my neighbors will be pleased when I start grinding and drilling here ;)

i hope that includes very loud hammering.. smiley-face-drool.gif

step 1 was to cut the opening, step 2 some drilling and cutting and I had a place for the chimney, which I made from stainless steel tubes I got from a lab (they no longer needed them,I did) step 3 I made that stove hatch. I'm able to take the chiney down for transport

why those two last pics went sideways, well this tech-idiot don't know, but with the right tools from the start the project woulöd have been ready ages ago,but it's doable even with less pro tools.
what I had was, an angle grinder, drill, a dremel ,a hammer and alot of patience ;)

Hey jontte good job man, I have been meaning to make one of these for a while now, I think I will make one in time for Xmas. Thanks for the link and well done for making your own it looks good.

thanks,it wasn't such a quick job I thought it to be,but once I have a possibility I'll post a vid with some fire and smoke for you guys :)
this is thw way of this budget-prepper here, can't afford those somewhat expencive factory made,so I do it myself.

mind you that with the right tools from the beginning it will be quick to do ;)

Great diy project! Remember, you don't need to copy it exactly. Just work with what materials you have on hand. The principal design is simple, you just need a fire box, flue, and a airflow restrictor to adjust the fire. A great way to heat a small space with a minimal amount of fuel. Having a mig welder, and learning to effectively use it is a really smart prep. You could train a chimp to weld with one, so don't be intimidated to try and learn. Welding enables you to do a lot with prepping.

20160924_142858.jpg 20160924_142910.jpg ...why they come here like this is beyond my understanding,I'm not that tech savy...but it worked, got hot,a few blisters proved that to me,as I was "smart" enough to touch it after 2 min of burning ;)

that tent must be of canvas and have o hole for the chimey, which is lined with a metal sheet with a hole,I know your concernes, but have used something similar in a tent when I made my service...

I was even thinking of something similar to a tee pee. I guess some sort of floor liner for protection from sparks and heat as well. The other day I saw a tent on Amazon that was a classic tee pee design. It had a few modern improvements like carbon rods and was lightweight and waterproof. I also liked the fact that it was a drab green color. Most tents now days are bright colors that I don't want. I bet that heater could really be nice when your sleeping out in the cold.

tee pee is a great design, worked for hundereds of years and is still working, those guys who designd the tents for my mil here must have seen pics of tee pees, 'cause they are circular in model and a high pole in the middle.
