I was helping a friend with his range, he was using these pieces of rubber, he thinks came from 10 ply tires. The pieces were being placed in front of the control boxes at the range. I saw they had deflections on them, so I shot them with what I had with me, I even put them in a go bag and shot them, the picture shows the one I shot, the actual hole you can see is from my rem 870 12 gauge. It didn't puncture as you can see, the other rounds, 5.56 and 40 cal didn't even leave a mark. IMG_20130603_202910_565.jpgIMG_20130603_202850_821.jpg

I just made a steller hobo stove and my son and I tested it out a few times and added it to the BOB tonight. we LOVE our hobo stove! :)

I made it in a way that I can stil use a giant pot on it if I want.

Woohoo! Love that thing, lol, and yes dryer lint is friggin AWESOME.

Awesome on the bolt cutters. Never even thought about them. My son calls his a complete tool box. He says they will cut the lock off any toolbox of mine.....lol....have you ever tried that little pair made by knipex.they are like the size of pliers and we even use them to cut rebar. By the way... they will destroy a shackle on a lock.put a set of cheater pipes on them if you can't clamp hard enough. They are bad to the bone...I love them but so does everyone else, therefore they need a homing devise.

Bill are these the cutters you are talking about?

Don't get me wrong i carry a cheap ### poncho an blanket as back up or to give to someone in time of need.

Ditto. I have a decent poncho, but carry the cheap one too as it is no space, and cost a buck. Same with the emergency blanket (though would hardly ever need it in FL).
A tampon. Just Google survival uses. Amazing the things that can be done with it. I know, right?
Agree on the bandana. Google on it too, and you'll see over 100 uses for it.

I use a dark green/brown 10'x12' tarp for a few reasons:
1) I have it in the truck anyhow (for waterproofing loads), so right there if I have to go on foot.
2) Makes a great and easy tent.
3) Folded, and bungeed around my pack, it helps keep it dry.
4) The color helps to blend in to surroundings if needed.

Ok I know I've said this before but a Shemagh instead of a bandana its bigger and just as handy and can work as camo. Also 50 gallon construction grade trash bags work for poncho, shelter, water gathering and a million other things, just make sure they are the thick construction grade ones.

And I suppose I can cover my head with the shemagh when I am around muslims. : / Being in Fort Worth, We wear bandanas around our neck a lot anyways or use them for handkerchiefs in our pockets. Joking aside, the shemagh looks like something I would actually wear during the winter as a scarf. I'll look into it.

well i rearagened things in my bag..and then attached the tent and mattress to it...gotta down size my tent to a 1 or 2 person tent thoe..and rid pack of stuff in there that i (really) dont need in it.. so i can add foods n other stuff that i do need as well...

A bar of fels-naptha soap is $1 or less at walmart. If you get in poison ivy or oak, wash the skin with it to keep it from spreading. Also works as a washing up soap and a laundry soap. You can also clean sores and blisters with it. Works great.

Yeah I went through several changes, I think i am going to switch to hammocks. Let me get a pic

keep forgetting the hammock..i know they dont take up much space when rolled up right

Problem with hammocks is rain (even the ones with the cover, etc.) I used to have a small 2 man tent with it, but really, I just don't see needing it. The tarp should be fine to get me home (and quick to put up). I can use the bungees or paracord for the roof line, then stake my tent stakes through the grommets of the tarp, and viola! a tent. (I make sure I make it so where part of the tarp is a floor, too)

i beleave haveing a hammock is good.i plan on haveing both tent and hammock..that way i'll have a choice.if it aint raining and/or what ever.then hammock is good on acount it dont take as long to set up or take down n put away, compared to the tent.and thats handy if i still have to get home the next day..
