... and that for us is a Big Deal.
We purchased an RV in January thinking we'd convert it and move into it over a period of 5 months. Well, you can guess that didn't happen quite to plan and we ended up moving into the RV within 5 weeks. Since then we've adjusted to our smaller living space, have gone to remote work/school options and now live "out there" moving around having fun.
Currently we're near St. Louis so we can be with my girl's family during the holidays (Big Life Event took place last year, this year may suck for them) and after the holidays we will head back out "there" and do more fun stuff. Between our data plans and RV Park wifi we can keep up with work and school easily.
Our RV has been a pretty big project. We removed the crap, repaired the systems and set it up for full time living. We've made a couple changes. The first is that our RV is matte black. To our surprise most RV Parks really enjoy this and make a big deal out of how cool it looks. The other is up on the roof.
Our solar kit is obnoxious. 3x250 watt solar panels (750w) that charge our 500ah battery bank to power us through our 3,000 watt pure sine wave inverter/charger. Yes, we can run anything and everything except the A/C but we still have our generator for that. We carry extra propane, 50 gallons of water onboard plus whatever we pack inside and since we removed the big stuff (queen bed in back bedroom) we have room for all sorts of supplies.
We changed out the tires for a more aggressive tread design and although this pig is heavy once we get out to BLM land or wherever we feel we are safe this thing disappears at night and is fully powered during the day.
This is our Step One.
