Guam offers no options for escape. Guam is right on the ring of fire, I don't feel comfortable on any island on the ring.

Guam isn't looking like the safest place in the world right now.... seriously, I don't think we will go to war with the little fat kid, but I would rather pick someplace other than in the crosshairs of trouble.

The wife and I have kicked around the idea of living on a boat. But if we did buy a live aboard we'd stick around the west coast and Alaska.

I've kicked the idea of a boat around for years. I've just got too much stuff though. I wouldn't know how to act without a barn full of stuff.....

Same here. I don't see myself selling the ranch. I'd just give it to my son. But we would buy another house on the water in Alaska and one on a navigatible river down south. A friend of mine lives in Juneau and is always asking for us to move back up. Sometimes it is very tempting.

Guam was just an example, not a serious suggestion because its simply a long way from anywhere else ( which in case of global pandemic is a PLUS point) but there are islands like Puerto Rico and others around the Coasts. Plus once you get slightly north of the Canadian border the place is good prepper territory and the loony left and gunner hold no sway
well I chose Arkansas for a couple reasons,there is not much industry here,one large city,no great strategic targets to speak of and a lot of very rural remote areas to hid in,,,,,,,in other words if the SHTF and war breaks out why would an invader even look at this state
no island nations for me,,,,when the SHTF you would be stuck there

Arkansas has a few targets
Pine Bluff Arsenal
chemical and biological weapons storage facility
OST transports nuclear material to and from savannah river facility with a holdover in Ft. Smith on it's way to the Pantex nuclear bomb plant in Texas. Also in Arkansas their are Army, Air National Guard and Air Force bases with all of this putting Arkansas on the secondary nuclear target list. It doesn't help that Pine Bluff and OST holdover in Ft. Smith opens these locations up to terrorist attacks and sabotage. Not to count Arkansas nuclear one power plant.

When we travel to her home in S.W. Florida and drive through large cities
in the south we make sure our gas tank is full and NEVER stop until we are
at least 75 miles away from those cities.
Just my personal feelings about safety.
I travel with a loaded pistol under the drivers seat and DO NOT want
to use it.
As a side note ethnics are fond of hitting a car driven by white folks stopped
for traffic in the rear bumper.
When the whites, usually elderly, stop and get out they get robbed.
If the white elderly drive a very nice car they steal that too!
If the victims are lucky they don't get murdered.
