In the opinions of everyone here, what state would be the safest to live in. If there were an invasion/occupation, which state would provide the best living so that you could stay away from it all. If things were to go wrong and war were to come here i'd want to be in an area that can provide me what i need to live and be able to defend myself from invaders of all kinds

I don't think which state is what's important, but rather where it's located in the state. I'd recommend a place far from large urban areas, as few neighbors as possible, overall low population density, a dependable water source, timber (for building and heating) and fertile ground. Ideally it would have abundant fish and game in the area too. Buy as many acres as you can afford away from major roads.

I've thought about the same thing, and a few possibilities come to mind.

Vermont has large wilderness areas and extremely liberal gun laws. It is near New Hampshire, Canada, and lots of other places to retreat to.

Not being tropical (like my state, which is Florida), there should be no hurricanes, tornadoes should be very rare, and few tropical diseases (like malaria, zika, etc.).

If you are concerned about global warming raising the sea levels, Vermont has enough mountainous terrain to allow one to escape encroaching waters. New York City would be a tempting nuclear target, though, although a couple hundred miles should provide enough safety from fallout. Most military targets like ICBM silos are in the western states, so you should be good there.

Vermont gets very cold in winter and has blizzards, of course, but this can work to a prepper's advantage. There is something to be said for winter weather weeding out the vicious, desperate hoards while the prepper hunkers down in an unobtrusive, remote area.

Vermont doesn't seem prone to earthquakes or volcanoes, and the culture seems to include people who are conservative, self-reliant, and stable.

Hmmm in an ideal world Kerguelen, Tristan De Cuhna, Ascension, St Helena, Tierra Del Fuego, South Island New Zealand, Alice Springs, etc spring to mind. Northern England and Highlands of Scotland and Wales in the UK. Mid west US states like SW KS, SE CO Chunks of Cananda ( not Quebec) bits of Alaska.

Reminds me, I've wanted to get a passport for a while now. You can't even go on a cruise now without one, or drive into Mexico or Canada. The last time I went on vacation outside of the states you didn't need anything other than your DL for these places. I even went to Costa Rica without one. Besides really wanting a vacation, I think having one handy during a crisis might come in handy.

I used to go to Canada for hunting and fishing.

No longer.

The can keep that ult left place and all the Muslim refugees they can
feed.

Anti-gun and alt left, socialist, gov't.

Each area has its dangers and challenges. If the criteria is based solely on surviving an invasion/war the Northwest (Northern Idaho/Northwestern Montana) Pacific Northwest (Cascades of Washington/Oregon) are one of the best, Locations also needs to be based on water sources.

Pit falls of these locations are going to carry the natural dangers such as floods, slides, fires, earthquakes, volcanoes and wild animals, East Coast mountains have many nuclear reactors in the East to add to the concerns so know the area you may go into. The challenges are going to be winter prepping such as protection from freezing temperature, maintaining food supplies and fuel sources (wood) The biggest challenge is maintaining a level head through the long winter stays, if you have problems with claustrophobia then you will be subjected to the stresses of cabin fever. Going up into the mountains with very little provisions and knowledge will limit the survivability.

Shhh. Don't tell too many people.

I get the humor in your post but it's also sound advice.

We don't want the unprepared, panic stricken, scared silly, survivors among
us.
They would be unreliable and potentially dangerous to have around us.

If that sounds harsh it's because it is harsh.
Survival is tough enough without adding additional burdens.

The one you prepped in .

Indeed.
That's why I'm "bugging in".

#1 reason is I have no other place to go better than where I live.

#2 reason is the #1 reason.

#3 reason is that reasons #1 and #2 mean I don't have to travel anywhere
in a shtf. Bad thing to need to travel when so many unprepared become
panic stricken and potentially violent.

People living in moderate to large cities might consider bugging in as
long as supplies last.

Something to consider in a shtf is the "disadvantaged" people that are
multi generations of "gimmie" folk used to living off us taxpayers.

These "people" are savage enough now. Let them be cut off from free
everything and they will take what they want to survive.

This isn't "racial" it's just facts. There are many that make a career
from free living, read welfare, of all races.

Some figgers fer ya.

Percent of welfare recipients who are white / caucasian 16.8 % 11,405,000
Percent of welfare recipients who are black 39.6 % 26,884,000
Percent of welfare recipients who are Hispanic 21.2 % 14,392,000
Percent of welfare recipients who are Asian or Pacific Islander 18 % 12,220,000
Percent of welfare recipients who are Other / Mixed 4.4 % 2,987,000

82.7 % on the dole are non white.

Our tax dollars at work.

Will these fine folk sit around and wait for the gov't to aid them in a
shtf?

Your opinions welcome.

Recall the looting, rioting, raping, killing, in New Orleans after the floods?

We have bad folks and we have good folks I don't judge among racial lines though I will pick my company very carefully, I will avoid areas with racial tensions from either side. While most of my blood is German my wife dad was born in Mexico and her mom born on the reservation in Oklahoma so I probably wouldn't fit amongst an all white community nor an all black community or even hispanic :-/ The way I see it their loss not mine so I'm not going to concern myself with piddly shit.

Yes Sir, I have noticed an unfortunate practice among both British and American preppers when discussing their bug out or escape plans, all to often they appear to think they can only bug out within their own countries borders. Yet the likes of Bill Gates and other top flight silicone valley types have been developing BOLS across the world, its not their obscene wealth I envy but they GLOBAL approach to dealing with a problem.
