I think ROEs are different for individual or prepper families and uniformed forces, I would not use the military methods of assessment as a civiluan prepper cos we dont generally have the logistics or backups the military do.
Yeah, calling in air support isn't going to happen in rural Ga. Post shtf. This thread deserves some real thought though. I'm of the mindset not to trust anyone. Unfortunately without teamwork you won't stand a chance. I do think being selective of who you let in based on their skills and assets is wise.

I don't want or need a large group,no more than 6 and they can't have baggage,,,with a fortified isolated position you should be able to hold what you have,,,any outsiders who happen by are rebuffed brutally ,it will be a dog eat dog world,,,and you can not be soft

I hear ya....Air support is not going to happen in rural SC either.....

I've always thought that survival in the UK will be different to that in the US, we have a country that the average person dosent walk more than 200 metres/feet from their cars, and most people think "no where is safe" in the UK, so the attitude to survival is different too.
I have heard many people say online in the UK that "if TSHTF I don't want to survive because it will be too awful".

Yup TRUST is a major issue in our community but the only way I have seen and experienced that see's trust grow is NOT getting pally with neighbours, nor forming groups where internal conflict and strive never stop, But what I saw first hand in the US that DID work was folks regularily attending RVs and Meets and Prepper Expos for weekends of chat, sharing, bartering, cross training, socialising etc. I saw what very good trust ties were formed by survivalists from across the US who regularily attended RVs in southern CO. Regular RVs without obligation or pressure where preppers can intermix without obligation with others helped create some good trusting relationships between preppers from different areas but shared much common ground on race, politics, prepping issues, religion, and objectives.

I do NOT think that teamwork among free thinking strong will preppers can always be achieved within extended families or among work mates or neighbours, it can be done but other negative influences often screw them up. But meeting very like minded folks are regional RVs using see's like minded preppers build teams and trust because there is no excess baggage to deal with.

Most people are to busy with a job, kids and the everyday strife that life brings to worry about preparing for a disaster or doomsday threat. I don't think its really intentional but things are really tight economically right now....You know there are a lot of scenarios that prepping is almost a useless cause in many ways.....For instance by some chance the earth was swallowed by a massive black hole no amount of prepping is going to help anyone in a situation like that. The earth would literally be torn apart and turned into a mass of molten rock.

We are facing dreadful times right now and people just do not consider or think about these things. There are many, many ways the human race can go extinct but this is not something that we as a collective race want to think about. Its all about self for the human race, being so self centered we never consider that our planet is not safe, we are not safe.

when you get a generation or generations that don't know any different to the norm, they think that the norm is all there is, that nothing will ever change, whereas human history has been nothing but change but they cant or wont see this. like step daughter says she is on her "hamster wheel" and cannot see any further than next week or the end of the month, never mind what may happen next year or further.

It is easy, even for us, to get caught up in the day to day living and not worry or think about the what ifs. All I know for sure, change happens. It's happened throughout history. Dying does not scare me at all. Dying, while I'm watching the ones I care about starve to death or get sick from drinking contaminated water, scares me. These are things we can take steps to control. Like dieting, smoking, and other things, if you want to change something it takes a commitment. It's far to easy to come up with excuses.

there will be no real military after nuclear war, there will be gangs and some rogue military groups, both will be a serious threat because both will be on the prowl to take whatever they need or want,it will be best to avoid both types

there are no guarantees in life we can die in our sleep take a fall on the way out the door, you never know when your time is up,,,,,I will not waste time worrying about what might happen,I will do what I can to be ready if the SHTF,,,but a black hole, come on now I would think alien invasion would be a bigger threat,,,,,,,,,in fact the alien invasion has begun,,,,MEXICANS AND MUSLIMS are slowly taking over the country

Well if you are talking about these types of aliens yeah I agree with you there. But your President-Elect Trump says he can fix that.

Agree......

,I will not waste time worrying about what might happen,I will do what I can to be ready if the SHTF

There is really not any need to worry about it....You have to control whats within your grasp and the rest will take care of itself.

but a black hole, come on now I would think alien invasion would be a bigger threat,,,,,,,,

Black holes are more likely than any extraterrestrial invasion and are a threat that no amount of prepping will prepare anyone for. Not trying to be a stick in the mud here but aside from the everyday dangers that planet earth throws at us there are real threats beyond just what we see here on earth. Rogue military units and gangs are threats that assume life earth has ended as we know it..These are things that assume the earth still physically exist. We can prepare for things like natural disasters, EMPs, CME's etc...

In a Post Apoc world there are no rules only survival of the fittest....I often hear some say "you come into this world with nothing, and you will leave with nothing"....That said you can throw ROE out the window in a Post Apoc world.

TRUMP is not going to be a fix all wonder,,,his impact will be limited, the only thing I really worry about with him is his retaliatory nature,,,he will have to temper his mouth after he takes office, and I don't know if he has the will power to do that......................

I wholeheartedly agree with you absolutely.....
