I've been refueling these for years, I do about 5 refill on the 1lb cylinders and discard as a safety precaution, if one has a 20lb or 30lb tank, for less than $12 one can have a refill station for the little 1lber's. A coleman factory 1lb bottle w/propane weighs 1:14.0 (1 pound 14 ounces) so if you're close to that you are full.

I got a refill adapter years ago for filling the small bottles. Refilling is much cheaper than buying them.
