Question for you gunsmith guy's

OK I don't know if this is even able to be done so if it is crazy please feel free to tell me. A guy I know has a rifle that came out of Egypt it a automatic in 8mm dang good rifle but the guy is thinking about selling it because 8mm is hard to find around here. I have been wondering could it be coveted to another round the reason I ask is because my grandpa had a 98k in 8mm that he set up in 30-06 but it was a bolt gun. So do you think a automatic 8mm could be set up in something like 30-06 or 308

Seems like it wouldn't justify the expense, unless capable of doing it one's self....

Well it a really cool rifle and I was thinking if it was like my grandpa gun it would take a new barrel and a bolt face but I was thinking a automatic would probably be a little more different because of the gas tube

Not to bad like I said it a cool rifle and just seeing what it did to a old car we were shooting at I would not want to be on the receiving end of it and the boy not asking to much for it if 8mm a little more common than I thought might not be two bad

old guns can be a lot of fun,and the prices for ammo on that web site are not bad at all

Well the guy that had it said you can get some 25 round mags that with them it is almost like a light weight B.A.R I know it would not be the same as a m14 a F.A..L or AR10 but I keep thinking with the 25 round mags and a bypod it could do the job of a car stopper and picking stuff at longer range
