@Kevin L

Might I lovingly suggest some counseling for better mental health.
I shudder to think of some innocent person, maybe even a child,
impaled on a feces laden punji stick.
A trip wired shotgun shell yet...............some poor curious child is
going to get maimed or killed.
Not to mention someone's dog missing it's face to a shotgun shell booby trap.
We aren't in a shtf situation. Not yet anyway.
I'd rather help folks than maim and kill them and their children.
If I caught you doing that I'd have to put a fast stop to such
barbarian, neanderthal, thinking.
Humans are special creatures. We come together and are at our very best when
things are at their very worse.
Well.....................most of us do anyway.
Imagine any natural disaster if there were no Red Cross, no volunteers, no FEMA,
no support at all.
That would be pretty sad would it not?

Everyone that has half way strong mental health would come together
to help others in need.
So would you.
You're here ain't cha?
I served 22.5 years helping those in need.
It cost me 13 serious injuries, 9 months in rehab learning to
get use of my legs back and I regret nothing.
I didn't do it for commendations.
Still I have 6 commendations for valor, one from the Governor of Ohio, the
Director of the Ohio State Highway Patrol and various civic organizations.
Over 30 awards in all.
Forgive me if I seem a bit proud of my actions.
After 9 months in rehab I went to college at age 48 and by 53 I had
earned two degrees.
Lazy and stupid I'm not.

Sadly no one can fix stupid.

I'm sorry that you got the wrong impression from my post.

I didn't start the thread, and I was only speaking in theoretical terms

In other posts, I've mentioned that I've set aside extra food for my neighbors.

I've also expressed concern about other posters mentioning grenades.

I'm sorry you got the wrong impression.

All my best,

The OP has more to do with post-shtf NOT pre-shtf ;)

Lots of Preppers have the idea that post shtf there will be no electricity , no Military or Lae Enforcement or anything that resembles life today . Thats not true that would be TEOTWAWKI . Look at some of the major desaster areas and war torn areaes . You will be more responsible for your security and provide for You and Yours but then again You may still be working Your job and life simi normal post SHTF the commute just may be more eventful .

LOL, to the loony left, Trump getting elected was TEOTWAWKI :D

But I agree, TEOTWAWKI and SHTF are more or less synonymous. Then there is WROL (Without Rule of Law) which is the state where a lot of the middle east is right now. Along with parts of Detroit, London, Paris....

Is this going a bit far?
I dunno, just askin'.
Keep in mind my survival plans might vary quite a bit from others.
I don't live in a city or even much of a community.
My place is rather secluded for a populated state.
That has it's drawbacks however.
The "gimmie" people will be out in hoards looking to raid and steal.
The last thing I'd want is to disabled a car load of them with flat tires
making it harder for them to run for their lives.
Just askin'.
I don't know everything. If I did I wouldn't be on this site.

Detroit. Where the weak are killed and eaten.

London and Paris...........................I dunno.
Very few have guns and recent events have show those folks to be
pretty much defenseless.
"Stab me! I'm skeert and can't defend myself!"

When I was in unarmed self defense classes we were taught some really
nasty tactics.
We were reminded that fighting for one's life has no rules.
None.
Get that out of your head right now.
Sickening as it is ............................................

might be useful in some instances but the last thing you want to do is to stop them leaving the area if they are only passing through, just saying.

My thoughts^^^.
I don't want to cause harm to anyone.
I will, no doubt about that but I just don't want too.
Hurting others just causes more problems to be dealt with.
Like..............how many bodies does one want to bury?
Rotting humans create all manner of health issues.
Sickening what?
I'd rather not cause that kind of problem to deal with.
Just run off the scavengers if possible.
I maintain the "gimmie" scum will be the most difficult to deal with.
Once they have ravaged their own they will come after what is left.
They have little to no values and will be .................ah................difficult.
Probably wise to dig holes for them pre-shtf if one sees shtf coming.

not sure what that has to do with punji sticks?

Why nuthin'.
Just awake too early and typin'.
Everyone else is still sleeping.
Sadly "everyone else" is of the attitude............" I'd rather die than see the shtf."
With that attitude they likely will die.

That also be true Paul, but we have so called preppers out their that purchased all these fancy equipment and year(s) supply of food wanting the world to fall into despair, I've seen it on other sites, fairly discouraging (though not surprised) to those that's just starting out. I guess this generation have a different set of standards than ours Paul and that's the scary part.

Not saying our generation didn't have its share of problems it did though our generation was more comfortable in the outdoors than this generation who is more comfortable with marketed consumerism :(
