whether a city is safe in an emergency depends on the event, one thing is sure once the electric and the mains go down, very few people will be able to survive, most city apartments and other housing are too close together and have nowhere to grow stuff, once the initial food supply is gone you need to be able to grow at least some of your own food, wherever you live, city, town or country.

Im not the one with the problem regarding where people choose to live. It seems like others have that problem.

It seems like everytime things get resolved and back on track someone starts back up with the urban phobia thing again...all the while encouraging a lunatic whom thrives off drama.

I don't get why a couple of you have such a problem with me being content with the city I live in.

I'd put most of Chicagoland up against any community in the country as it relates to safety. Enough with the anti city propaganda...it's getting old.

I don't think anyone here has a problem with debating, but someone thinks debating is more like masturbating and all about there own gratification. Thank you Rellgar, I really don't mean to offend anyone, its just my way, I tend to call a spade a spade and some people take it the wrong way. I am the original "grumpy old git"(got a sticker on my car that says this!) and I think I just have this capacity to get under peoples nose's. I've got a friend who says we are a pair of old dinosaurs, I guess people just cant understand where i'm coming from. i'm not interested in the normal nuisances of life, strikes, power cuts, traffic delays, that most people in my country seem to "prep" for, I've done all those and come out the other side-many times over, I now just prepare for the big one, something so drastic so severe that it changes our way of life for ever, life would never be the same again.

insane asylum? hell they went out years ago, they are all private luxury apartments now!! its all "care in the community" now and that's a one big joke, the health service is collapsing daily.
