I rarely, if ever, gamble.

I occasinally buy a few lottery tickets, and on rare occasions (twice in five years) I go to the dog track

My rule is that I'm out to have a good time, and never spend more than I would spend on a night out on the town.

My dad knew several compulsive gamblers, and a few had their bodies worked over by gorillas who were hired by the bookie.

One guy had two broken legs, broken ribs, internal bleeding, and a serious concussion when he couldn't pay back the vigorish on his markers.

I've had enough vices, and I thank God that I've never been a compulsive gambler.

I lost my Christmas bonus on a poker game once. That cured me from gambling. I bought one lottery ticket in my life...When the lottery got close to a billion dollars. I thought "Why the hell not? If I win I can buy my own island somewhere."

Since her bank is in KY and she spends most of the year here in TN, my brother has POA over her checking account. He doesn't have POA for her savings such as Cds and bonds.

She did it that way on purpose.

Does he have the paper from the attorney that is signed by her and by the attorney that gives him POA? If not, then he is only listed on the account at the bank and it is not a POA. I stick with my advice see an elder care attorney asap.

I'm glad that reefer seems like it's going to be legal.

This news is so frightening, that I think the only way to deal with it is to prep, and stay baked.

Not that it isn't important, it is. But there is a reason it's back in the news...

The "Trump colluded with the Russians" crusade has gotten nowhere.
The "Trump slept with a woman twelve years ago" crusade mostly got yawns.
The "Trump's separating families at the border" crusade backfired.
They are running out of ammo and need a new Cause du jour...

Here this will help the budget. Eliminate all Welfare. Department of Education (return control back to the state), 3 strike law criminals (that will reduce prison costs), Only give college loans in the amount the students can earn in 1 year after graduation (teachers earn $40,000, -- maximum loan for entire degree $40,000) Eliminate all grants to colleges / universities. No grant money for special studies ( to find out why the dung beetle likes to roll dung) or any other stupid government wastes. Require a balance budget and tie the pensions of teh politicians to the budget being balanced. Oh there is a trillion ways to cut spending and put out a balanced budget, is it going to happen, heck no. The deficit is only an issue now because a different party is in power, switch roles and it would be the GOP screaming about the deficit. Just like Mikey, talk, talk, talk when do we eat. Plan. Prep because it is going to become due and there will come a time when the debt cannot be kicked down the road. Roast mule anyone, dog and cats will already be gone.

Why are all those grounds for impeachment? No collusion found as of yet. He slept with a woman 12 years ago (as in, not even in office) and the separating of families was already in the books before he was even elected. He just enforced law already in place.

I was mostly referring to character or morals. Something no one seems to care about anymore.
As far as collusion, come on, anyone who doesn’t believe trump didn’t know about the meeting is delusional. I will give you the point on bill being in office, like literally, he did this in the office! The separating families thing was horrible and wrong, period. I’m fine with putting the whole family on a budget plane immediately and send their butts back to their capital, but not kids alone in detention. Not to mention those detention camps were ALOT more expensive per day than an airfare.

Sorry about the kids being separated but the parents were the ones that came over illegally. That is a crime plain and simple. If the parents really cared, they would legally immigrate into this country and not become a criminal and have their kids taken cause that is what happens in the real world where people break laws. Sort of expecting this after doing so much reading about the causes of Venezuelas mess.

There are too many dependents, that is government dependents, and those who are elected want to keep their jobs. If they cut spending they get voted out because people have the attitude of entitlement. "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." Is a very tiny part of our society. Therefore, the writing is on the wall. We are doomed. Study the fall of democracy and it is very apparent. This is why there are people like us who associate here. We use our eyes to see what is happening and we use our intelligence. The masses have their heads in the sand. There isn't that much to discuss, it is going to happen and their isn't much we can do about it. Just keep writing our politicians,vote, try to educate people and pray.

The news is only what they report as being news. We don't get the REAL news. I just finished Ted Koppel's book and he discusses how news reporting has changed and created division in the American people because news is reported with a slant and not just the facts. He was and is a real journalist and by reading his book you can decipher that he doesn't sugar coat, or put a slant, but reports what the research indicates clearly. Oh, yea the book is "Lights Out", I will be reading a second time due to the complexities of the subject matter.
